Part of the reason that Clowney was laughing at him was because Smith laughed at Clowney when Smith hit him in the crotch with his helmet. Payback is always funny.

The Michigan play was a trap but when their right guard got to where he was to hit Clowney the play was already over.

That's just as incredible as the hit - the guy got up and went to the sideline like somebody had done nothing more than tap him on the shoulder. How the hell did he get up?

Watching that hit live at R.J. stadium gave me chills. I didn't even celebrate at first, I was in complete shock like I had just witnessed a train hitting a Honda civic. I'll never forget that moment for the rest of my life. And he is back next year..... Thank you Jesus

Slo Mo shows that Clowney was moving before any of the OL for Michigan. You have ot see it in slo mo to pick it up, but he reacted quicker than their OL did and they knew the snap count. Incredible.

I was in RJ too, and I thought the helmet was the ball. I was yelling "fumble, get the ball," then saw everyone diving in the pile before I realized that was helmet. Everyone around us was stunned and could really do nothing other than cheer, no one knew exactly what to say.

You'll be hard pressed to find 3 more amazing plays in a row than those three plays...(1) fake punt followed by botched call, (2) Clowney's hit of the year... no Century!, (3) and then the great pass to Sanders whose foot was closer to the back line than the fake punt ball was to a first down and it was clearly a touchdown.

fullback moving out to pick up hampton blitz also had the effect of blocking the RBs view of clowney for a split second.
