Earlier this week, head coach Steve Spurrier alluded to the fact that two players would not be with the team when South Carolina opened bowl practices today. On Saturday morning, Spurrier announced that wide receiver D.L. Moore and offensive lineman Kyle Harris are no longer with the program.
Spurrier said that both players were suspended for the Outback Bowl for a violation of team rules. TheBigSpur.com previously reported that Harris, a redshirt freshman, was leaving the program.
Moore, who started five games this season and played in all 12, was a senior who will see his career come to an unceremonious end. This season, the Bowling Green, Ky. native caught eight passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns. Both of his touchdowns came against East Carolina. He also had three catches against Florida this season for 23 yards.
South Carolina held an abbreviated practice on Saturday morning and spent most of the day in the weight room. A lot of players were finishing up their final exams on Saturday morning. Stay tuned to TheBigSpur.com for a complete practice recap.
