Brad Underwood was the lead recruiter for Duane Notice
Notice is originally from Canada but has been playing his prep years at St. Thomas More Academy in Connecticut under head coach Jere Quinn.
Quinn offered his insight into what type of person the Gamecocks are getting.
"He is a great kid with a great family," Quinn told TheBigSpur.com. "He has integrity and initiative."
Quinn described Notice as a "6-foot-2, 210-pound two-guard that can help at the point when necessary." This past season Notice averaged 17 points, eight rebounds and five assist while leading St. Thomas More to the New England Prep School League Championship.
The St. Thomas More coach could not step raving about his pupil when asked how he could help the Gamecocks moving next season.
"He is just tough," he said. " A great practice player and a great game player. He is always engaged and I really only have good things to say about the kid."
This past season, Notice was named first-team All-New England and was runner up for Player of the Year.
Notice joins the Gamecocks three signees from the fall, Sindarius Thornwell, Justin McKie and Desmond Ringer to currently make up Martin's first full recruiting class. Villanova sophomore transfer Tyrone Johnson will also join the Gamecocks for the 2013-14 season but will not be eligible until December 17th.
