Martin is hopeful that Bruce Ellington will become the personality of the Gamecock team.
Frank Martin has been searching for a leader to step up and take control of his South Carolina squad. After a win over Arkansas on Saturday he may have found one.

I really can't qualify myself as one to comment based on my actual experience around the team, because I don't have any this year due to some surgery. But from the outside looking in, I thought the hardest part of this season would be the meshing of players and their styles, and them getting to know and trust each other on and off the court. It's hard as hell to take over a program like ours with its most recent past, and hit the ground running on all cylinders. This might just be getting ready to happen to this team. That leadership that Frank speaks of that's been missing so far probably cost us 2-3 wins at this point in the season. Hats off to Bruce for stepping up, keeping his cool, and taking charge. Hope there is 1 more on the team that makes that leadership move as well. These guys might surprise us all before it's all over yet. There is no doubt that we have the right man in charge. Go Cocks!
