The second game of South Carolina’s baseball series with Liberty has been postponed until Sunday. The two teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at Carolina Stadium.
The first game of the day, which features right-hander Colby Holmes as the starting pitcher for the Gamecocks (1-0), will last nine innings. Game 2, which will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1, will last seven innings.
Tickets for both games will be honored at the gate on Sunday. Senior Nolan Belcher is slated to start the final game of the series against the Flames (0-1).
South Carolina opened the season on Friday afternoon with a 4-3 victory over former assistant and current Liberty head coach Jim Toman. The Gamecocks allowed three runs in the eighth inning but managed to hold on to the victory to give first-year head coach Chad Holbrook his first win.
