Kickoff against Florida announced

South Carolina will play Florida on Saturday at a familiar time in front of a bunch of familiar faces. The league announced on Sunday morning, after CBS elected to use its six-day window option last week, that the Gamecocks and Gators will meet at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.

That’s not all, though, as ESPN College GameDay, for the second time in three weeks, will be on hand to see head coach Steve Spurrier and his team play. The traveling college preview show will be in Gainesville, Fla. after making a pit stop in Columbia on October 6 to see South Carolina take on Georgia.

South Carolina, which dropped its first game of the season on Saturday night at LSU, has won two straight games against the Gators. The last time the two teams met at The Swamp, the Gamecocks left with a 36-14 victory and SEC Eastern Division championship.

Florida, which began the season ranked No. 23 by the Associated Press, has steadily climbed in the rankings this season. The Gators (6-0, 5-0) had big early-season road victories against Texas A&M and Tennessee before defeating then fourth-ranked LSU at home.

The victory over the Tigers vaulted Will Muschamp’s team up to No. 4 in the rankings. After a 31-17 victory in Nashville, Tenn. over Vanderbilt on Saturday, the Gators should jump to No. 3 in the latest AP Poll.

Spurrier will meet with the media on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. The team will hit the practice field to begin preparation for Florida on Monday night at 7 p.m. at the Proving Grounds. Practice is closed to the public.
