South Carolina has a top-six showdown this weekend with Georgia but on Monday morning, the Southeastern Conference announced its game times for next weekend. The Gamecocks (5-0, 3-0) will travel to LSU in what would be a top-five showdown if both teams win this weekend.
South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier
The Gamecocks and Tigers (5-0, 1-0) will kick off at 8 p.m. EDT on ESPN, the league announced on Monday morning. ESPN had the first selection of games for the October 13 weekend and CBS had the second selection. It will be the second straight week that South Carolina will feature on the network’s flagship station and will be the fourth time on the ESPN family of networks.
LSU, which dropped to No. 4 in the polls despite a 38-22 victory over Towson on Saturday, has played all four non-conference games already this year and will now begin a seven-game stretch against SEC opponents. The Tigers travel to No. 10 Florida this weekend with the Gators coming off a bye week.
The Gamecocks haven’t fared too well against the Tigers having won only two games in 19 chances.
South Carolina returns to the practice field early this evening at the Proving Grounds. Spurrier will meet with the media on Tuesday at noon for his weekly press conference. The Gamecocks host Georgia this Saturday at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
