South Carolina has its second member of the secondary transferring in three days. Sources informed TheBigSpur.com that reserve defensive back Martay Mattox is transferring.
Mattox, a freshman who enrolled in January, asked for a release from his scholarship and will leave the program at the turn of the semester.
According to the university’s participation reports from each of the final stats charts, Mattox did not play in a game this season, thus eligible to be considered a redshirt. Mattox would have four years to play four if he were to transfer down a level or attend a junior college. If he wishes to transfer to a Division I school, he would have to sit out a season.
Mattox, a cornerback, joins safety Corey Addison amongst the players to transfer this season.
