Gamecocks' 2014 schedule released

The Southeastern Conference today announced the conference football schedule for the 2014 season allowing South Carolina to release its full 2014 football schedule.

The Gamecocks will kick off the 2014 season by hosting Texas A&M on Thursday August 28 in what will be the debut live game broadcast on the SEC Network. It will also be the first time the two programs have met on the football field.

The Gamecocks then host East Carolina September 6, before returning to SEC play by hosting Georgia on September 13. The Gamecocks have won three straight against the Bulldogs.

The Gamecocks hit the road for the first time in Week 4 when they travel to Vanderbilt before hosting Missouri September 27. The Gamecocks defeated the Tigers for the first time in school history last season in Missouri's first season in the conference.

The Gamecocks travel to Kentucky October 4 before hosting in-state Furman in a non-conference tilt on October 18 following the first bye week of the season.

South Carolina travels to Auburn October 25 to take on the Tigers for the first time since a 2011 loss. The Gamecocks hold a 1-9-1 record against the Tigers.

South Carolina hosts Tennessee November 1. The Gamecocks have defeated Tennessee three straight seasons.

After a bye week, South Carolina travels to Florida November 15 in the final SEC contest of the season.

The Gamecocks host South Alabama on November 22 before traveling to Clemson on November 29. The Gamecocks have defeated Clemson four straight times.
