South Carolina squandered a halftime lead and fell to gritty Georgia 67-56 Saturday afternoon at Colonial Life Arena.
Freshman Michael Carrera led USC with 16 points, including a rare 3-point shot. Bruce Ellington had 14 points and Brian Richardson provided 12 off the bench.
The loss drops the Gamecocks to 12-8 and 2-5 in conference play.
South Carolina travels to Kentucky on Tuesday at 9 p.m. USC returns home next Sunday to host the Tennessee Volunteers.
