Four-star LB Deshaun Davis took his first visit to South Carolina Saturday.

Deshaun Davis was excited when he received an from South Carolina in January, but he admittedly didn't know much about the program. He took his first visit there Saturday.

    • Yet another example of our coaches shooting it straight for these kids and not negative recruiting. It makes me proud that in this cut throat world that is modern day recruiting, our coaches seem to be taking the high road more often than not. Looks like Deshaun would be a great addition (and another out of Alabama no less).

    • Seems that we have a lot of offers out for 2014 recruits especially considering the expected small size of the class and how good we stand with some recruits already. I sure hope that we have most of the 2014 class committed before the end of July, or it might be a wild ride to NSD for the 2014 class.

    • This kid would be a great addition to our LB core IMO. He really have a nose for the football. He also moved well in coverage but what I like the most from his film the kid don't arm tackle. He disengage the blockers made contact and wrap up that's something a lot of kids are missing. I attached his film so others can check it out

    • The fact that he didn't grow up a Bama or Auburn fan is huge. LSU will probably have a mediocre next season, which should help our position, and getting Walton from nearby will help, too.

      Agree, his film is very good. He knocks the ball carrier back when he hits him. I want him.

      For anyone that is maybe a little confused why Botkin doesn't like certain players at LB, you need to look at this kid's film. The build on this kid is exactly the type of powerful LB's we need. We have 2 LB's on the field, and we need guys with powerful lower bodies who can get leverage at the point of attack. BAW is a little taller than this kid, but he's got a very powerful lower body as well. This kid in the middle, and BAW as WLB are a good prototype of the LB's Botkin wants.

      This young man seems like a great kid. Him and BAW would be a fantastic LB haul next year.

      What are talking about I need to look at his film... YOU need to look at what I wrote about the kid. I pointed out everything he does great and gave credit for his proper tackling technique which a lot kids just don't show anymore. I agree with what you said about BAW no doubt about that.
