The Gamecocks find themselves in the top five for the nation's top prospect, Da'Shawn Hand.

It hasn't even been a week since the Gamecocks inked the class of 2013 but that doesn't mean the staff isn't already hard at work on putting together a talented class of 2014.

Excellent.
One minor note - Carter is a WDE and no. 3 overall and Hand is SDE and no 1 overall. Looks like you switched this in the article.

Figure that realistically a good D class would be:
DE Williams
DE/DT Wideman
DT Pringle
LB Allen WIlliams
LB Blue (as an early entry, no LOI)
DB Smalls
DB Green
and either DT Ford or LB Davis

We won't have to worry next year about the # of LOIs and the max of 22 due to the likely small size of the class. The limitation will be due to the max total scholly limit of 82. So, we most likely do not need to have Blue or anyone else not sign an LOI, like we did this year.

Wes, I saw in another thread where you said you would check on JC DE Jhaustin Thomas. Hopefully you can reach his JC coach to get comments. It looks to me like he is playing basketball at Trinity Community College, and had only a few tackles in football. Maybe he was injured ?

Great read, this time of year kind of reminds me of the start of the season when we're undefeated and all of the goals are still on the table. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Is Blue a grayshirt or something? Why would you ever think he wouldn't sign an LOI? Maybe I'm not up to speed here.
