The November 5 matchup between South Carolina and Arkansas will kick off at 7:15 p.m. EDT on ESPN, it was announced by the SEC on Monday afternoon. The Gamecocks (6-1, 4-1) travel to Fayetteville, Ark. to face the Razorbacks (6-1, 2-1), which are ranked No. 8 nationally in the polls.
The Gamecocks are 2-7 all-time on the road against the Razorbacks. The teams have met both in Fayetteville and in Little Rock at War Memorial Stadium. This game will be played on campus though and, with a win, could conceivably clinch the SEC East.
For that to happen though, South Carolina would need to beat Tennessee this weekend and have Florida knock off Georgia in Jacksonville, Fla. That would mean the Gamecocks would be back in the SEC Championship game for the second straight year.
But first thing’s first – South Carolina will travel to Knoxville, Tenn. this weekend to take on the Volunteers (3-4, 0-4), which will have a new starting quarterback. Vols head coach Derek Dooley announced on Monday that freshman Justin Worley will get the start, the first of his career.
He’s yet to attempt a collegiate pass and just had his first game action in a blowout loss to Alabama over the weekend. Saturday’s game against Tennessee will kick off at 7:15 p.m. EDT on ESPN2.
