USC to play two on Saturday

Due to bad weather expected in the forecast on Sunday, the final two games of the opening baseball weekend will take place on Saturday against VMI at Carolina Stadium.

Game 1 of the doubleheader will begin at noon with junior Matt Price getting the ball. Game 2 of the doubleheader will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. The stadium will NOT be cleared in between games. Season ticket holders should use their tickets for game two.

Junior Colby Holmes is scheduled to start game three for South Carolina. Both games will be nine innings.

Fans with tickets to Sunday's game only, will only be allowed in for the second game of the doubleheader. Any fan that leaves Carolina Stadium in between the doubleheader must have a Sunday game ticket for reentry.

South Carolina opened the season on Friday afternoon with a 2-1 victory over the Keydets. Junior LB Dantzler's RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning drove in junior Evan Marzilli for the game-winning run.
