VIP Room: It's Outback time

Welcome to the VIP Room, a comprehensive report brought to you by the staff of designed to take you behind the scenes of South Carolina athletics.

Almost every team is excited for their bowl game but what has the Gamecocks jacked up for their battle against Michigan? Also, there’s a running back who has been on the sidelines all season long that could actually make his first appearance of the year. Who is it and why?

South Carolina missed on a wide receiver target on Sunday when JaQuay Williams chose Texas A&M over the Gamecocks and Georgia. There is, however, another new name on the wide receiver board that the staff is checking out.

There was a lot of momentum in favor of the Gamecocks to land the signature of current Georgia commitment Shaq Wiggins. Is that still the case? We have updates on over a dozen prospects.

On the basketball front, the Gamecocks suffered its first loss in three seasons to Clemson on Sunday afternoon at the Colonial Life Arena. Head coach Frank Martin wasn’t thrilled with his team’s performance but what were the main things that caught his ire? There’s also a new name on the recruiting front, too, that the staff will track in the 2013 class.

A handful of South Carolina soccer players are departing, a new staff member in the administration begins this week, notes from men’s golf, and much, more more in this edition of the VIP Room!
