  • Anyone know of any places hiring period? I am graduating in December and need a job as well. Long term I plan on going to graduate school, but that may be a year or two away.

Unemployment has gradually improved for the last 2.5-3 years.

Not trying to be insensitive - I can certainly appreciate your quest for a job.

It just struck me funny - the other day you said unemployment has improved and today you're beating the bushes for a job.

For what it's worth, when I was in school I found a couple of jobs through the unemployment office .... of course that was back in the purple haze days of the late sixties. Perhaps today, well, the times they are a changing.

Oh I have a job, I just don't particularly like it.

    I recognize the irony.

There are jobs out there, I was just curious if anyone had any direct advice. I have a job, but the minimum wage is no way to support yourself

What do you mean? Feel free to PM if it is overly political.

Just a 21 year old with a liberal arts degree looking for a job.

Whatever you do don't apply to these companies. They are cutting back due to Obamacare. Maybe work under 30 hours somewhere and write a blog.

I could be wrong but I don't think any self respecting liberal Starbucks employee would be caught drinking PBR as it is more associated with guys with red necks and white socks - Coors is probably a more trendy liberal brew.

Nickelodeon? - I don't think so - again, not trendy - I see something like planned parenthood more up your alley for volunteer work.

I wonder if Ben and Jerrys has any volunteer positions? It's the only company I've ever come across which has a tab on its web site with a mission statement for Activism.

Good points. But I can testify that PBR is drunk heavily within those circles as well.

It was a classic country beer drinking bar band tune back in the day, may still be in many country circles.

Visit our web site, Roots of Country Music, Click Here. http://bestocm.com/ -------------------- There's no place that I'd rather be than right here With my red neck, white socks, and Blue Ribbon beer. The barmaid is mad cause some guy made a pass The jukebox is playin "There Stands the Glass" The cigarette smoke kinda hangs in the air Red necks, white socks, and Blue Ribbon beer. A cowboy is cussin' the pinball machine A drunk at the bar is gettin' noisy and mean And a guy on the phone says "I'll be home soon, dear" Red necks, white socks, and Blue Ribbon beer. No we don't blend with that white collar crowd We're a little too rowdy, and a little too loud But there's no place that I'd rather be than right here With my red neck, white socks, and Blue Ribbon beer. The semi's are passin' on the highway outside The four-thirty crowd is about to arrive The sun's goin' down and we'll all soon be here Red necks, white socks, and Blue Ribbon beer.
