For a first date? Any ideas? High Cotton, Stellar Wine Bar? Any tips would be great. Thanks!
The Green Room, Soby's, Smoke on the Water are all good. Soby's is a bit loud if you're close to the kitchen.
What about lazy goat or nose dive? Have never been to the places I mentioned so didn't know they were that upscale.
Sounds like you should watch this. NWA has an opinion on this subject.

High cotton isnt my favorite...
I also agree with Duck here.
Check your PM
Check the Erwin Menu...I dont care for ole southen food but I think your High Cotton with a Dev kicker is good,,,I like Smoke but not for your purposes and Ricks fish place in the Hotel (on Broad St) is excellent as well. Take a look at Biketown (Greenville) downtown on the net and check their menus to be sure.
The Goat and Nose Dive are Tapas and Appetizer like places but very nice. Very nice Steakhouse on the Reedy as well, right next to High Cotton...good for a drink as well.
Great place to barhop....someone told me the other day there are a hundred bars/restaurants down town.
Best Italian in town is out of town at Pelham and 14.....called Coal Fired Bistro
If those are what you would like to do first date...for sure go with Rick Erwin's. but I don't know if I would go that big on a first date. Just my opinion. I'd probably go with a smoke on the Water. Great location, very good food but gives you options on your next dates.
Smokw on the water would be a good choice
Go with Duck on this. Don't aim too high. My wife got the Salty Nut on our first date.
If you drop dollars like that on the first date you are setting a horrible precedent. Smoke on the Water would be good.
The Cazbah. Tapas and wine bar, cozy atmosphere & great food. Recently went there on a first date & it was a great choice! We ordered several tapas items each and then shared. Sharing the food allowed us to get a little more intimate than usual on a first date, didn't break the bank either...
My son's message to Obama, Clemson, and Georgia
Nose dive would be a good first date, high cotton way to stuffy for the first. Irwin's a little further down the road. Soby's not a bad choice either.
Nose dive is ok but I would say soby's over that. If you want to set the bar a little lower, go to carolina ale
Green Room, Grill Marks, Breakwater are cool and not too expensive
Rick Erwins, High Cotton, and Nantucket's are good but pricey
If you really want to close the deal, take her to Trattoria Georgio
trattoria giorgio and the panties drop
I endorse this post. I take all of out town clients to Rick Erwins. If not there go to Devereaux's. Clooney had dinner there just about every night while he was in town filming Leather Heads.
I like Trapp door for a first date or green room. Both are mid priced and great food.both also have smaller portions so you do not pig out and can have a few night caps.
