Is anyone else out there as embarrassed as I am for the state and for Myrtle Beach as well?
I am not a huge fan of MB, but the hillbilly negative publicity from this kind of "redneck reality" show cannot help.
Everytime i see or hear about this thing i cringe.
Someone will have to show me where this trailer park is before I will say this is for real.
I do not consider MB part of the state. So considering that its not an embarrassment to the state just MB
its embarrassing that people watch shows like this.
Wait is Myrtle Manor in Myrtle Beach??
What are you guys talking about?
Would be funnier if it was clemson manor

Can we just go ahead and give Myrtle Beach to Ohio?
mb aka as little ohio. no thanks. stay south.
i live 15 minutes from MB and some are being a little hard on MB. that show is so fake and bull^&*(. my wife said 2 of them have been on other reality tv shows. for you guys that are to good to come to the beach thank you and stay away.
I Agree with this guy. The Grand Strand is one of the jewels of our state. There is a reason why it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country.
If we are giving away areas that are heavily infested with white trash from Ohio then I guess we have to give away Hilton Head too. And with those Carnival Cruise Ships now stopping in Charleston, let's get rid of that POS town too.
My bad are you from Ohio?
Don't know the show. I'm to busy watching Bar Rescue, staring Don Rickles.
I live in Garden City .....yes there are a lot of Yankees here, but what little I know about this show it is typical choreographed BS. I don't watch that crap nor any of the other stuff like that. Anyone that does just contributes to there being more of them.
The "Golden Mile" section of the Myrtle Beach strand is as nice any beach in the state. Certainly there are some trashy parts but posters who lump all of Myrtle into one "Redneck Riviera" pot are uniformed. Also lots of gamecocks down there, no need to bash it.

A couple of the best golf courses in the country along with many other courses ain't too shabby either. Yes, Myrtle Beach does attract trash. So does every other city. A lot of people think Columbia is the "arm pit" of the state. Thankfully I have spent most of my life in both places and know these type of negative thoughts are the result of pure ignorance.
Myrtle Manor is a Trailer Park depicted in an upcoming reality show. It is the tackiest place on earth, the characters are the most red-necky folk in your wildest imagination (think Vol Nation or Clempson). Its park bird is the artificial pink flamingo, and if you mess with one resident, you mess with the whole park. The chicks are a poor rendition of Daisy Mae Yokum, and every person who opens his mouth reveals 3 teeth and spews double negatives and profanity. They eat possum, and squirrel is a banquet. There's always a drunken feud going on. Swamp People are blue bloods compared to the Myrtle Manorites.

I grew up going to North Myrtle twice a year. I hadn't been back since '93 until a few summers ago. We rented an ocean front house on the northern most block in Myrtle (82nd rings a bell). I prefer IOP and HHI but there was a lot to do in Myrtle, especially for the kids.
I am not on the show, therefore not embarrassed
I'm "The Arrival of Joe" and I am the #1 Proponent of Cheating: Whatever It Takes To Get Eddie Goldman to Columbia, SC
I actually lived in this TP as a student at USC-C for about a year or so... It is not what it is made out to be in the show. Old man Patrick ran the park with an iron fist. If my grass was not cut he would come down with a lawnmower on the back of his truck, knock on the door and tell you to go out there and cut it, or he would charge you for doing it himself. This is just another scripted "show", and not at all what that TP is in reality.
Old man Patrick is very similar to Hank Hill.
Thanks Teddy. Never heard of that show before.
NO one is from Myrtle Beach nor does anyone go there. You live or go to Pawley's, Litchfield, Surfside ... but never Myrtle.
I delight in calling the entire Grand Strand Myrtle Beach to all of my friends who live or go there to watch them cringe.
One of my friends from N.J. who lives in Myrtle(oops-Litchfield) once told me he didn't see many Southerners there. I told him that's because we are already here. Subject hasn't come up again.
I'm "from" Myrtle Beach, literally. Born there. Live in the city limits. I've been blessed to feed my family with money made from tourists staying inside the city limits of Myrtle Beach.
Take a long running start and suck me.
