Did Ted Nugent Threaten the President?

  • Several web sites are reporting the secret service is investigating Ted Nugent as a result of statements he made recently at an NRA meeting.

"We’re Americans because we defied the king. We didn’t negotiate or compromise with the king. We defied the emperors. We are patriots. We are Braveheart. We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November."

You don't suppose he took his cue from something he read on the Barnyard?

  • Sounds a little like something Sean Penn would have said about Bush.

  • I'm absolutely, 100% sure you can find similar statements made by Democrats. Quit trying to make this a bigger deal than it is.

Ted Nugent Stands By Obama Remarks, Compares Himself To 'Black Jew At A Nazi-Klan Rally' (AUDIO)

Ted Nugent stood by his controversial comments about President Barack Obama and Democrats made over the weekend, telling conservative radio host Dana Loesch on Tuesday that he had been unfairly targeted for saying he would the rock star complained to Loesch.

i am thinking he may have fallen out of a tree stand, on his head. i am guessing romney wont be asking ted to cut some ads for him this election season

  • Ted is pretty hard core...however, the reality is that most Americans identify with a lot of Nugent's opinions. As has been stated, we can certainly find inflammatory statements from both libs and conservs. I like the fact that he doesn't allow political correctness to hamstring his opinions. I think most Americans are sick of being told what they are allowed to say and not say.

no, sorry, ranting about being a black jew at a nazi klan rally, no, only about 2% of the humanoids in america would be ranting so.

are your brain cells ravaged by old age drugs drinking & marrying your cousin like ted?

hard core. indeed. nutty all over with a hard core of crazy crap.

and word, i can say anything i want i aint afraid. are you an infant or little girl? maybe you need a gun to feel like obama aint gonna git ya...or perhaps then you might be either dead or in jail. or maybe a black jew packing heat at the local klan rally. wear a romney button

Since you're incapable of rational discussion please just don't respond to my posts. I'm not going to refute your points because they are all wrong, out of context, and fabricated...and I just don't have that much time.

I really hope most Americans don't identify with him. Nugent seems off his rocker.

I plucked a few of his quotes...which I know most people agree with...it doesn't mean I agree with everything he says or does...but it's easy to say he's just crazy without actually analyzing what he's saying. At least he's not afraid to speak his mind...hell, Charles Barkley speaks his mind on ESPN, gets paid healthily for it, and nobody says a damn word about it.
"I don't partake in assembly-line convenience. I don't say that killing things is bad while I hire people to kill things for me."
"Mankind: A quality of life upgrade is available to each and every one of you. It should give you a quality of life upgrade, which means no drugs, no alcohol, no fast food - unless, of course, it's a mallard."
"There are hundreds of millions of gun owners in this country, and not one of them will have an accident today. The only misuse of guns comes in environments where there are drugs, alcohol, bad parents, and undisciplined children. Period."

Well sure I agree with those, but I think even you would admit some of his ideas are pretty out there. Calling people "varmints" and "soulless idiots" isn't the best way to give yourself credibility.

Nugent is an entertainer like Barkley, but I wouldn't get my political ideas from either.

  • I was thinking to myself last night that what this country really needs right now is some inflammatory and violent political discussion. Things have become too, how should I say, civil lately. We should mix it up a little. Chop some heads off over here; there's some varmint over there; to hell with civil debate. Middle school name-calling and violent imagery is where it's at. Biden is an entertainer, like Franken, but I wouldn't get my political ideas from either..... Yet oddly people do.

Nugent isn't a politician and his statements shouldn't be interpreted as such. He's an ordinary man with (arguably) some extra ordinary musical talents.

He has opinion and expresses them. He no more speaks for conservatives nor represents them any more than Springsteen, Sarandon, Baldwin or Franken speak for and represent progressives and liberals. Oh, wait - Franken speaks for the libs of Minnesota.

I don't think I'd put any substance behind the rhetoric. ... and to those that do - well, I wouldn't put and substance behind their rhetoric either.

sorry, whether you read it or not, i insist on injecting common sense into your weirdness.

you have a place for a ranting nut case old rocker with his brain eroded to mush, he who spouts he is a black jew at a klan nazi rally, and yet somehow i offend your tender wittle sensibilities

i translate it thusly- Mr aba reveals me for the dummy i am, thus i will boybott mr abc

good for you. ignorance is a dish better dined on in solitude so dine away

  • NO ! he actually sounded a little like hoffa jr earlier in the year. he wanted to kill those s o b 's . hoffa was at an obama rally. anyone with any common sense knows "cut their heads off in november " means at the ballot box . Anything to distract from the truth of the pityful job pres obama has done.

Hey, as long as you also have a problem with the ramblings and race hustling of Sharpton, Jackson, Spike Lee, New Black Panthers, (the 3 networks that withheld info on the Martin case), Bill Mahr,..I could go on...as long as we hold everyone to the standard then at least you're being consistent. A few days ago Thom Hartmann said that today's conservatives are nothing more than Fascists...but I don't see where anyone has a problem with that...of course no one really listens to his show. I really don't have a problem with anyone speaking his or her mind...the problem is that the media wants to tell us who can and who can't. That's the problem.

I'm not sure where we disagree. I said I hope he doesn't speak for most Americans. By your classification it seems you don't either.

I don't watch or listen to any of those people you mentioned, and in the one thread I was involved in regarding Spike Lee and the NBP, I was very clear that any statement or activity that incites violence is uncalled for and should not be tolerated. You and JohnHunt and others on this board probably disagree with every single thing I believe, but I do not think you will find one instance where I have encourage violent or overboard, non-reasonable political rhetoric.

I don't even know who Thom Hartmann is so I don't really know what to say about that.

The problem is not that the media is telling people who can and can't speak their mind. The people who hear the statements make that decision. Nobody is censoring these people at all; in fact, by the media giving them constant coverage and discussion, it is the exact opposite. People make choices as to what they listen to and what they don't, not the media (ignoring the obvious point that companies could always elect not to broadcast certain people, but they would do that for economic reasons, not because of some forced censorship).

What I am saying is that the people who take the stage and inject themselves in the discussion and debate should feel some sense of responsibility to keep discussions civil and reasonable. People disagree, that is a good thing; people who name-call other people fascists, communists, socialists, nazis, varmints, etc are not helping the country at all. With great power comes great responsibility, at least that's what I've always heard.
