In my opinion, fish is not better fried. Everything else is. (I assume you mean battered and deep fried as opposed to pan seared).

I don't care for either of those either way they're cooked. If its fish its bass, crappie, brim, catfish or tuna, mahi mahi, wahoo, shark and the like. And they're all good either way.

I agreed about fried cod until I had a bite of the wife's entree this past week at Morimoto's in Napa. Braised black cod with a ginger soy reduction. It was delicious and much better than any fried cod i've had in the past.
