  • You know, this probably misses the point of the thread, but let me chime in anyway. 1968, the year I graduated high school, was the most turbulent year I have ever lived through in my almost 62 years. There were the assassinations of MLK and RFK, plus George Wallace was gunned down. The Presidential election was bitter and devisive - Nixon beat Humphrey. The Tet offensive erupted in Vietnam. The Apollo spacecraft orbited the moon, for the first time allowing men to view the dark side of that body. In the Mexico City Olympics, John Carlos and Tommie Smith raised their black-gloved fists on the medal stand to protest treatment of African Americans in the United States.

You get the picture, lots of stuff happened.

But here's the thing...I became attached to a certain girl...and then our paths diverged...and I never met anyone like her again.

Does anyone know what I mean?

Do you know what I mean?

No, but I'm about the same vintage. I'm probably a little smarter than Forrest but not nearly as lucky. I guess one thing balances out the other.

Lee Michaels has often asked the same question, "Do you know what I mean?"

  • Assuming all of the 'not dying while there' is still in effect..... I'd like to live in the year previous to the Mt. Everest sized meteor smashed in to mexico, putting dinosaurs into extinction. My last moments in the time period would be watching the meteor enter the atmosphere.

I would like to have been in Israel at the time that Jesus Christ lived on earth. What a blessing it would have been to have been with him during his ministry on earth. To have been one of his disciples while He was alive on earth would have been awesome.

I'd also like to go there to that time to verify what is believed today.

I'd also like to go wwwaaaaayyyyyy back and see a dinosaur.
