The Apollo spacecraft orbited the moon, for the first time allowing men to view the dark side of that body. In the Mexico City Olympics, John Carlos and Tommie Smith raised their black-gloved fists on the medal stand to protest treatment of African Americans in the United States.
You get the picture, lots of stuff happened.
But here's the thing...I became attached to a certain girl...and then our paths diverged...and I never met anyone like her again.
