Lake County Democratic Headquarters desecrate flag

  • I think this is fairly self explanatory.

Vets angry over American flag featuring Obama | www.wftv.com

Tempers are flaring over a version of the American flag flying in Lake County. A veterans group says the flag is an outrage.

  • politcal fervor run amok. pretty stupid move on the flag. if folks want to play in the political sandbox they ought to know better manners.

  • Are they upset about these? First two are on display at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Third is a greeting card.

    ...apples to oranges.

Those first three aren't flags like the one in the video. The fourth one is, but appears to be made in protest by the tea party. Either way, I don't agree with the fourth one or the Obama flag in the video. I'd have the same problem with Bush on a flag, done in the same manner as the Obama flag.

i find the reagan examples to be as embarrassing as hell. i know they gop needs to lionize, idealize & make as a saint ron reagan, but the flag has better uses than props for politicians. the fact that ron reagan chose to stay in hollywood to make sappy movies than fight for his country is enough reason for me to say ick.

stop abusing the flag. it ought not be cheap currency for hawkers. if you want a fly just leave it the way it is.

    Selective outrage amuses me.

Who cares, it's a piece of fabric

Right on. Patriotism sucks. Who cares if people have died defending said piece of fabric?
    Thanks for enlightening us.

People died defending the flag? What war was that? Was it vietnam? Did the Viet Cong have a secret plot to steal all the american flags? I thought people died defending the country...silly me.

you are aware that during warfare the flag is carried at the lead. if it falls it is to be picked up.

yes, it is fabric, but to ignore that it means much more is silly. i personally dont approve of folks using the flag for demonstrations, especially those that might involve burning the flag. i would probably try to discourage it.

there are many vets who would kick some serious ass. it might not be legally correct and all, but all in all would not surprise me, and if on a jury i would acquit...well, unless they murdered someone. i do have limits

i do realize we are in modern times, but the tradition of carrying the flag at the head of battle is a real one.

the respect people have for the flag as a symbol of liberty is palpable. i am not a lachrymose crybaby over symbols, but i do get chills during the national athem & i respect the flag

just a mixed up old liberal i guess. having belief in america. some folks hold nothing dear & sacred other than their own skin

You might consider a change of heart on this issue. Apparently you are younger and just haven't been taught proper respect for certain things as you should have. It would very difficult to find a veteran who would agree with you on this. I will defer to their opinions regarding the flag...

Great post. Love of this country trumps all political parties and opinions to me.

Okay, well this veteran says it's a piece of fabric.

and I am a veteran as well and for you to say it is merely a piece of fabric I am ashamed you are a veteran..

please don't tell the over 80 percent of veterans that disagree with you that an ass whipping may ensue
