I delight in calling the entire Grand Strand Myrtle Beach to all of my friends who live or go there to watch them cringe. One of my friends from N.J. who lives in Myrtle(oops-Litchfield) once told me he didn't see many Southerners there. I told him that's because we are already here. Subject hasn't come up again.

The sooner all of these terrible reality shows die a painful death the better off we'll all be. They already destroyed the History Channel with those Godawful pawn shows. Anyway I barely watch TV except for sports but it amazes me to see so many in our society celebrating mindless stupidity.

Yes there are many transplants in the Myrtle Beach area. You can say the same thing about Charleston and Hilton Head.
Tourism is the most important industry in the state. It is the tit the rest of you suck on. Without this industry our state would probably be the poorest state in the Union.

You all are a bit slow. I was being sarcastic. I am a great fan of the Grand Strand and have always lumped it altogether as Myrtle Beach. For most tourists or Johnny Come lately' s. it is a faux pas to say you live in Myrtle Beach. Snobbishness dictates that you live in a section but never Myrtle. How many times have you heard people say "I never go to Myrtle Beach" as if that branded you as some type of hick. Those people I love to tweak. As to my Yankee friend my point was that we are already in South Carolina so we don't have to move here. So far as I am concerned Myrtle Beach is the best beach in the U.S. The accompanying amenities aren't bad either. Well,except for the towel Shops.
