Not sure what first tape I'd have bought would have been.

Think it was hootie and the blowfish, but may have been the smashing Pumpkins box set or radiohead, i was in elementary school... The badass that had a portable cd player with esp (electronic skip protection) lol

First CD was Aaliyah - Age Ain't Nothing But A Number

My roommate gave it to me - Summer of '95

Woke up every morning to him blashing Nine Inch Nails and/or Hole.

I was doing a Summer Program through the Governor's School.........stayed in Columbia Hall. Got paid $185 a week to do research with a Bio Professor, and the program paid for me to stay there, plus breakfast and dinner, and I got enough meal points to cover lunch most days.

Used my first check to buy Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, and Nirvana albums. Good times.

2 at the same time when i got my CD player for xmas.

I recently got some stuff out of my parents house and found my old 45 records. I have Born in the USA, Purple Rain (yes, the purple record), some Hall and Oates, and some other stuff. Seems like I was missing some good ones. Maybe my little sister stole them.

My first tape I bought was Huey Lewis and the News -- Sports, I think. Beastie Boys -- Licensed to Ill was probably 2nd.

Pearl Jam's Ten and Rage self-titled I believe, both if which i still have to this day.

Baby, I like big butts and I cannot lie. LOL

My first explicit tape was the chronic, then doggystyle. Some good stuff on those albums.

No doubt.

First explicit tape I heard was 2 Live Crew when I was about 12. Borrowed it from a friend. Blew my mind.....I had never even HEARD some of those words. Listened to it the whole way to Aiken going to visit my great grandmother...........then left it in my aunt's car. That didn't work out so well for me.

First explicit tape I actually owned was Domino's Getto Jam single. B side was Sweet Potato pie.
