This guy isn't in jail (at least not yet, on the unlawful weapon charge).

I would hope that some of you are just confused with the "facts" you are throwing around for example.....

The "family provided cell phone records" proved that he had been on the phone with his girl friend 12 minutes prior to the 911 call, so he was not on the phone with her at the time.....(you will notice that in interviews the family lawyer will say he had been on the phone with GF but never says it was 12 minutes prior)

There was an eye witness at the scene that lived in the townhouse beside where the body was found, this eye witness gave a statement to police stating when he came out of the house Martin was on top of Zimmerman (my 1st question on cross would be "if you saw Martin on Zimmerman then you saw Zimmerman shoot Martin?) Now according to local media, a second witness has come forward stating they also saw Martin on top of Zimmerman - true or not if they provide LE these statements, LE had to use them in deciding to release Zimmerman later that night from jail.

Did any of you listen to the 911 tapes.....ABC had to issue a retraction to their claim that he used the term F----ing Coon on the 911 tapes as it is not on there..........but you hear it some where so it has to be true......

At the end of the first 911 tape Zimmerman does not appear to be following Martin any longer, by the way Mr. Allen; Zimmerman was on foot - he was not following Martin in his truck, the dispatcher ask Zimmerman if he wants to meet with the cops that are on the way, Zimmerman said yes and told the dispatcher he would be at the mail boxes, so it seems Zimmerman had broke off the chase and was ahead away.

No blood (?) the tapes do actually show blood on the back of his head. (CNN retracted their report claiming you could not see any blood or scratches) The police report states Zimmerman was treated at the scene for a bloodly nose and other cuts. So like someone said - something did happen before the shot was fired.

17 yrs old (?) is not a kid in the eyes of the law. I have a client sitting in jail for murder that was 17 yrs 2 weeks old when he shoot his girl friend for allegedly not having an abortion. Sadly, I recently was assigned a case that involves a 14 yr old that shot his friend because she was going to tell his father he smoked pot....the State charged him as an adult.

My point goes to those that say they don't need the facts they know the guy is guilty just because he was following the kid or whatever reason. You were not there and it would be stupid for the lawyers to say what all the evidence is, at this point. Zimmerman has been charged and I say he would have been charged regardless of who got involved. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton made this about race. Maxine Waters made it about race in the US House of Rep.

Say whatever you wish but neither one of those three people were standing around 2 yrs ago when my family buried my 16 year old nephew who was shot dead by 3 black youths (ages 16, 14, 13) outside a gym. His crime, he and another white boy beat them in a game of horse and they didn't have the 20 bucks to pay up. The police had their names, school id's and it still took 6 months for them to be arrested. Their families sent one to DC, one to NYC and the other to Texas to hide out. Where were Jackson, Sharpton and Waters yelling about the families injustice. When they finally went to trial they were convicted but not before their lawyers claimed the state shouldn't hold them responsible because they grew up in fatherless homes and in their neighborhood voilence was an everyday way of settling disputes. So please refrain from telling me what racism is.......

I have lost a father, two cousins, 1 nephew and 2 close friends to murder. Sadly, all 6 were killed by blacks. But I go to work everyday and give my all to represent my clients never looking upon their color. My father who was murdered in his place of business taught his children to respect all people never paying attention to their color.

I don't know what Zimmerman did that night beyond what little is on the tapes and witnesses have stated. It appears no one knows exactly what happen in the 2 minutes it took for this young man to lose his life. The evidence will help going forward. In my opinion, Zimmerman does seem to have some issues with wanting to be police officer or something. I cannot blame him for getting out of his truck and following someone that didn't appear to belong, after his neighbors had been broken into 18 times in a short period. I have been a part of a neighborhood that went through several break ins over a short period of time. We caught them and held them for the police. That is not uncommon as police go into neighborhoods asking residents to help. Why he had a gun is a real question. But if as Zimmerman claims, Martin came up to him and threaten him then Zimmerman had a right to defend himself. There is no law against following someone and if Martin felt threaten why did he not tell his girlfriend earlier or why did he not call 911?

In closing I will say this and some of you are just going to blow but based on what little I know right now, I would take this case and I would win. Murder in the 2nd degree is a weak charge. Are any of you aware that in Fla you could actually be found guilty of this charge and receive probation? It is a weak charge and I can only think based on years in a courtroom that the State has a weak case.

To the guy that said law enforcement was screwed up because OJ, Anthony and others had got off. That isn't on the law enforcement that was on the lawyers and the JURY! There was enough evidence to convict the jury just didn't see it or want too. Blame that on poeple just like some of the posters on this site.

your info is not correct here he was on the phone with his girlfriend at 7:10 his girlfriend stated in a interview that martin told her that some man was following him then asked martin what is he doing around there the call was lost at 7:16 someone called the police at 7:19 the neighbors that called the police the two woman room mates say they saw zimmerman straddling martin and heard someone hollering for help and if you heard the tapes you know thats a young person voice and not a adult. and i didn't see no blood on the back of the zimmerman head or coming from his nose anybody that has had a broken nose know that you cant allow for your head to be down if your nose is broken. if you dont think the special prosecutor can get a conviction after charging guy with second degree murder you are crazy. she would have never charged the guy if she didn't think she could get the conviction.
