Pearl Jam

What does a broadway play have to do with anything? Greenday couldn't hold up with most of the bands mentioned here. For one they really aren't good musicans compared tp Metallica and Pearl Jam or TOOL. Don't think just because a band doesnt make 2min radio hits that they arent any good. Im sorry to tell you this but Greenday kinda sucks.

i merely tried to include green day with top groups of the past 20 years. excuse me if you think they suck. apparently a lot of folks disagree.

    i like metallica fwiw fyi.

a lot of these later groups i just stopped paying attention too. i am getting old, i dont have time for everything anymore. i miss being up on the latest tunes, my son 28, i am sure, could be more pleasing to you.....

i just cited the broadway play, as 3.0 addressed me in a haughty manner, i wanted to put him in his place the little punk

  • A couple of bands that I haven't seen named that should be in the conversation imo:

    G N R
    Linkin Park
    Flaming Lips

I'd say yes to two of those. IMO Linkin park blows goats.

I know music is subjective, but in my subjective opinion, your taste sucks.

    Eh, that's your prerogative.

Oops...this isn't the Whitney Houston thread

I agree with the stop paying attention, Maybe its me getting older or that its just music now is pretty bad but I dont listen to anything past like 2000. Im only 27 and most of the stuff I listen to is alot older such as Floyd, Zep, King Crimson and others like that. Im not bashing you for your taste just didnt understand where you were coming from.

We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been. Spiral out. Keep going.

with the category music of the last 20 years where i am coming from is abject ignorance mostly

i actually listened to some beatles music lately & enjoyed it. for decades i refused to listen, i was burned out of it to the extreme.

as for new music, i still like it, but not driven to find it

  • Your college roommate is sadly mistaken about the ID of his teacher.. The drummer, Floyd Sneed, was from Calgary, and never stepped foot in a college classroom...He developed a unique still of playing drums, which he called L'African, and was discovered in a small nightclub by the guys who put the band together when they were walking by and swore there had to be 2 guys on drums..That night, Sneed was invited to join the group..

Today Sneed still plays the drums, but his real passion is art...He's now an accomplished artist and has works on display in many upscale art galleries in the US and Canada.

They recently put out Ten redux... and has some 'new' tracks on it. Well worth the purchase.

Is it remastered? Are the tracks worthwhile?

yes and yes. 'Brother' is the highlight of the new released tracks. At one point in time that song was the 'holy grail' of songs to hear them play live.
