Rank these bands

  • Led Zeppelin had hands down the greatest collection of musicians of all of these bands. These four bands happen to be my favorites of all time thanks to my dad who saw several of these bands play when he was a teenager in the early 70's. (I am only 24).

that said I for me they rank
    1. Rolling Stones
    2. Pink Floyd
    3. The Beatles
    4a. Led Zeppelin
4b. The Allman Brothers (only while Duane Allman was alive)

I tried being reasonable, I didn't like it. Clint Eastwood

    tanderbogus

  • Beatles, Stones, Zep, Floyd

    Spurley

  • Stones, Beatles, Floyd and Led for me from that group. My personal number one is Marshall Tucker, though, followed by CCR.

This is like asking would you rather have a million dollars in 10s or 20s. Each of these bands mean something different to everybody. They all deserve to be number 1. They didn't play the same style of music. I just find it hard to believe you can find a better band than Paige,Jones and Bonham. Just my 2cents.

I'm in with you GK..they are all # 1 on sombody's list and could be on mine as well. The music industry has always been a rip-off scene so to slam LZ over this might be a bit much imo, but to say they aren't at that level of musicians is silly. I saw the Stones ,LZ, and Floyd all live and they were all great. I believe the greatest songwriters of all time were the Beatles hands down. Ironically, they skated on a song called "Here comes the Sun" from Ritchie Havens( see Woodstock), who ended up being one of George and Paul's best friends.

  • Floyd
    Stones
    Led
    Beatles

not sure what 'skated' means but george harrison wrote here comes teh sun.

and yes LZ are good musicians. If i started a band bonham would be my second choice on drum.

My point is they (chronically) did not properly credit the actual songwriters.
