Restaurant Recommendations in Charleston

  • I am going to be in Charleston for my bachelor party over 4th of July weekend and I was looking at nice restaurants to eat. We are a party of about 8 and money is not an issue. I am up in the air between Oak Steakhouse or Halls Chophouse.

    Any suggestions?

  • Halls Chophouse for a steak. O-Ku for sushi. Hanks for Seafood. Rue De Jean & Coast have a pretty good atmosphere and good food as well.

  • Husk or McCradys. Sean Brock is the S.

  • Blossom is excellent. Next door Magnolia's which is owned and operated by same owners. Blossom's has equal or better food and is much less expensive by Charleston standards.

For a bachelor party, steak house is the deal. Both Hall's and Oak would be good. Oak has a new chef, and I think it's better now. Hall's is also very good, but I don't think it's as great as many folks do. If you're going to go out afterward, Hall's is right in the middle of the King Street restaurant/bar section, so you could easily walk to many spots. Oak does have complimentary valet parking, too. Finally, Grill 225 at the end of the Market in the Market Pavilion Hotel also has excellent steaks.

That's a good choice. I like Blossom, but there's so many restaurants that are top notch so it's pretty damn hard to go wrong.

For Batch Party I go to:

Go get yourselves some great cigars at Charlestowne Tobacco and Wine right on East Bay and Lodge....take the cigars up to the Vendue Rooftop, get drinks and enjoy the smoke.

Leave there and go head to the Pavillion Bar and get some good drinks and see potentially some fine tail on the rooftop. (Corner of Easy Bay and Market)

Now, get a 3 rickshaws and have them take you over to King Street. Get you a drink at Hall's

Then you can request the private dining room for just you and the fellas, it's called the Lamond Room. (do it ahead of time of course)

If you are drinking during the weekend and want shuttle service from downtown to Sullivan's (Poe's) etc...use these guys..cheap....and pimp, get the retro limo

From here you want to get in trouble. You will have to PM for that.

    Drivin' and Cryin July 2nd
Planning ahead Edwin McCain will be at the Windjammer on July 3rd.

  • For seafood, I'd choose Fleet Landing. For steak - good call on Hall's.
