Tiger Woods is his own worst enemy.... Always wants to

  • blame everyone else but himself. I don't think there is anyone else left for him to fire except himself. Put a fork in him because he is DONE...........

  • I think next year is the defining year for Tiger Woods and his future on the tour. I'm going on the assumption that he'll be healthy by then, or whatever healthy is for Tiger Woods at this point in his career.
Whatever swing changes he's doing should be well behind him by then.
Mentally, he'll be 2+ years removed from the point in which he made his life a dumpster fire.
His life will be back to normal, whatever the new normal is for Tiger Woods.
Assuming all of that, and I think that's a reasonable assumption, if Tiger Woods comes back next year and is still largely a non-factor, I'll be with you in saying, he's finished. Sure he might win a tournament or two over the next few years. He might even win another major, unlikely as that may be.
But if by next year he's not starting to resemble the guy used to be the best in the world, that's a wrap.
I still think it's a tad soon to write him off.
This Stevie move is a weird one but...Tiger looks like a guy that, except for his agent, is totally overhauling his life. New swing coach, caddie, etc.
    Will it work? We'll see.

  • Stevie, has been with tiger for multiple great years and he gets 10% or better of the winnings from tiger. considering tiger won between 10 to 15 million per year in prize money. Stevie did all right. This year tiger has won only around 1 million. so stevie might have been looking for greener pastures himself. to go from 1mil to 100k in one year is a hit.

  • Who is to say that Stevie didnt mention to Tiger that he was leaving. Let the man live. I bet if we look into anyone's background on this internet something will come up. He made a mistake and his family has moved on, so let him be.

He's been caddying for at least one other player this year so he's not just sitting around. I noticed he was out there with someone recently but can't remember who.

Bet you were not saying that on Sunday at the Masters when he made a move?

  • Love him or hate him PGA tour and majors are not the same without him. I think it may have more to do with Steve and Tiger's wives.

How many wives did he have?

  • The offputting thing to me is Stevie's assertion that he stuck with Tiger for the last 18 months, not making very much dough BTW, and tried to help him through his rough patch and then he was dumped. That's Stevie's line, so who knows what really happened. They were literally best friends at a point in their lives not long ago, maybe Tiger feels like he needs to get back to business.

So in 2010, Tiger's one of a hand full (less than 5) of players to make the cut in all 4 majors. He also had an excellent showing at the Ryder Cup. Then, on Sunday at Augusta in 2011, he spends a portion of the day on top of the leaderboard, yet all the naysayers are saying he's done.

It doesn't add up to me. Dude will be back. You don't have to agree with his infidelity. I'm sure his wife wasn't totally oblivious. My guess is their marriage was for show anyway.

Like it or not, Tiger has made the modern game of golf what it is. Not Stevie. Not Hank Haynie. Not Fluff.

If he did fire Stevie, I would imagine it was with cause. Dude runs his mouth and drinks too much.

Tiger will win a major next year, IMO. He needs to sit out the rest of the year and get his knee right and 2012 will be a real good year.

Stevie gets paid a salary plus incentives. Bones also gets a set amount.

How much dough do they make?

  • Stevie had a guaranteed salary of around 1 million per plus a cut of winnings. He was doing very well.
