Will Romney Have to Bow Out?

  • Now that he mainstream media have finally gotten off their duffs and read Bain Capital's filings what's gonna happen?

The campaign's been claiming he left Bain except for remaining a passive shareholder
since 1999 and had nothing to do with Bain's subsidiaries moving American jobs to China in 2000 and 2001.

But he signed Massachusetts State Ethics filings and SEC filings under penalty of perjury that showed he was CEO and SOLE shareholder of Bain through 2002.

Did Willard lie to the American voters in 2012 or commit a felony in legal filings from 1999-2002? I can't think of a potentially bigger scandal involving a presumptive presidential candidate in my lifetime.(Watergate broke late in 1972 and received virtually no attention until after the election)

What's a guy like Karl Rove going to say about raising all this money for a man with this kind of skeleton in his closet? Will he order the GOP to cut their losses? Will they draft Jeb Bush? Might be a blessing in disguise and certainly better now than after the convention.

  • There are brief moments when I become encouraged by the discussions on this board...not because we're all in agreement but because there is at least a modicum of sanity to them...And, then I see a post like this...right back to square one.

  • So if you get to call him Willard, that means you're not upset when people call the President Hussein?

If you're gonna comment on my posts, read 'em.

The first time any of you ever gave me grief over calling a man named Willard "Willard," I related how much I enjoyed post-op transvestite Ann Coulter's response during the '08 campaign on Fox when little weasel Alan Colmes asked why she kept calling Obama "B.Hussein Obama." She replied "because it's his name, and because I think it's funny."

Willard's his name, actually "Willard Milton" is his name, and I think it's funny.

And you can call Barack Hussein Obama by his name any time you want. It's none of my business. Although the joke has lost some of it's bite since he killed Bin Laden.

Story's front page news on every major site and paper in America and I'm indelicate for posting about it?

I'll bet you spend a lot of time polishing the family silver.

Ok...please contact me and we'll do a side bet...I will bet my family's silver against whatever you like that Romney will not bow out....i will give you 100/1 odds. Ludicrous post...no value added to anything...as usual.

I asked a question and requested opinions. Why are you so touchy?

No need to do this in private. My guess is he stays in. But your odds are too good. I'm in for $10.

Ok...we will test the veracity of your question to the board.
ALL INTERESTED POSTERS PLEASE PROVIDE ODDS THAT THE FOLLOWING WILL OCCUR:

Mitt Romney will bow out of the Presidential race...per request of Karl Rove...and be replaced by Jeb Bush.

    I will go first...1000000000/1 that it won't

So you're already changing the bet?

    Now you're adding qualifiers"
" Mitt Romney will bow out of the Presidential race...per request of Karl Rove...and be replaced by Jeb Bush."

Homey don't play that game. Our bet is right here for all to see. Willard stays in to election day and I pay you $10. Willard bows out and you pay me $1,000 and your family's silver.

If you're making a different offer to others, that's between you and them.

  • Is Obama going to bow out for lying about his place of birth? No, I don't think he was born in Kenya. I think he was born in Hawaii, but I think he lied on his book promotional literature to make him appear more "worldly."

    The reverse birther argument.

In any event, I don't think Bain Capital is getting too much traction for Obama.

I'm an independent, BTW. I don't particularly care for either of them, but I would vote fror Romney as the lesser of two evils.

This is the biggest news in the country, or maybe a close second to the LIBOR scandal. Either way, they are both problems for Republicans. Get over yourself. THIS IS NEWS!!!

Obama didn;t lie about his birthplace. You have no evidence to the contrary.

And as for the lesser of the two evils, please just move to another country. That is the most asinine thing I've ever read on this board.

Willard Romney is a very wealthy, patrician man and son of a former governor, car company president and Cabinet Secretary. The GOP attitude is people like that don't have to follow the rules and people like us have no right to question him.

They aren't going to respond on the facts, even if their is a factual explanation that makes Willard look fine.

People have no right to question someone as wealthy, well-born, powerful and connected as Willard Romney.

People like JFK? I'm sure he had ZERO understanding of ol' normal folk, but, it's different when wealth is democrat.

Plenty of people in both parties questioned lots of things about JFK.

BTW, even adjusted for inflation, the Kennedy's were/are paupers compared to Willard.

I do think that the fact that JFK served on a PT boat in WWII and was decorated for heroism while almost killed, and his brother Joe was killed, tended to give them a little more of a pass with average people than some others.

Of course, I'm sure some of those French roads that Willard biked while enjoying his four deferments from Vietnam were mighty treacherous.

adjusting for inflation, George Washington, was by far our wealthiest president. Doesn't mean he wasn't a good preisdent. But, then again, GW and JFK were both around during a period when being wealthy was not a problem. Not sure what military service means in terms of understanding others? I'm sure Prince William can completely dig what it's like to be an average man in England soley bc of his time in the military.

I just care about winning our bet now. I have no idea.
