gas prices have gone above $3.40

actually the average price when Obama took office was 1.83 per gallon. Your number is way way off.

I never said anything about the price of gas when Obama took office. Try reading the posts you quote/.

Or maybe you are to stupid to know that Presidents are elected the first Tuesday in November but don't take office until 2 1/2 months later.

As the chart below shows the average price of regular gas in the US reached $4.12 a gallon on Sept, 21, 2008. George W. Bush was President, Van Jones was not employed by the federal government and Solyndra had obtained no government loan guarantees on that date, to the best of my knowledge.

I apologize for being off by 5 weeks and 3 cents on that high.

    • without all your birther, conspiracy, beck, b/s - focus on the issue

obama had a green plan that he and his progressives were attempting to put in place - it included destroying the coal industry, appointing a radical jones – I make no reference to his politics or alleged socialist ways, views or organizational ties, providing millions of dollars to green companies such solyndra, take over (albeit temporary) of the auto industry, and allowing for electricity prices and gas prices to rise to levels consistent with many of the social republics of europe.

these are not the musings of a right wing conspiracy nut - these are views, plans and projects of a liberal, progressive ideologue.

the challenge flag has been thrown.

oh the flag exists, it was thrown way back when old dumb jimmy carter installed solar panels at the white house. why, what a funny hahahhahahha your right wing buds had over that one

when ronnie got in, he removed those stupid solar panels and got back to low price oil asap and trading arms with the ayatollahs of iran for hostages.

hahahhahahha solar panels in 1980 what a joke. if those dumb old liberals had gotten their way we would be oil independent by now

but no, we followed your side...lalallallala solar energy what a joke

being anti science and anti-intellectual is your sides forte...wear it with pride

        • Solar energy IS a joke. By far the most the most efficient energy source in nuclear. Guess who keeps pressing for fewer nuclear reactors? I'll give you a hint - its not the GOP. Care to take a guess at what some of the least efficient energy sources is? Its solar! Go figure. But hey, your snark makes up for those inefficiencies, right?

I've never met a bigger moron than you, ever.

you have not met me, for this i am quite happy

so solar is a joke. over at the bmw plant here in greer recently they promoted the fact their building housing a multimedia type display for the public & special events...it has been converted to total solar energy

yes, even the stupid moronic germans...world famous for inept engineering and stuff, they and china they think renewables....solar, electric...yeah they believe in it

but no, you, the giant brain of the world, you say solar is a joke. germany. china. all nations around the world...they are wrong you are right

you call me a moron. being dependent on cheap oil is like a heroin addiction...you want your dirtiest fix....just cheap....get off drugs and get of oil...stupid...moronic...yeah

            tempest, go find your teapot

            • Ok, first that made 0 sense. What does "They promoted the fact their building housing a multimedia type display for the public and special events" mean? Is this an entire building? A room in the building? What, exactly?
You mention china and germany, but provide 0 evidence of them using solar energy for anything. Please show me an example and perhaps I'll believe you.
Here's whats wrong with solar energy:
              Its very ineffecient
              Its expensive to produce
You need lots of land (see inefficient part for why)
It doesn't hold much charge, so its not for sustained use
You have to actually have solar rays hitting it, so its only available for charging less than 50% of the time

Stating that one building uses it and then saying oil is bad is stupid. Do you not understand this? Probably not, you're a liberal. You make fun of my religious beliefs, but have no problem putting complete faith in something that is completely unproven.

So to recap - you're an idiot. I, unlike you, have an open mind. I think that at some point, they will work out how to make solar power efficient enough to power entire cities. Right now though, its great for powering my watch and the streetlights, and not much else. Please, please learn how to argue. Its what you do 90% of the time in this forum, so you'd think you'd understand by now.
