Big news there. I think there was an Ice Age once or twice, and, oh yeah, Montana used to be a swamp. What caused those? I'll ask you what I ask every kook on this topic: What is the mean temperature for the Earth supposed to be? I'll hang up and listen. BTW, the kooks didn't change the name of the "crisis" from "global warming" to "climate change" by accident.

  • I think we've been down this road before. If you want to be part of this religion, by all means go ahead. Now to clarify...was this one the scientists who got busted for rigging the data or not?

Now if you had the actual founder of THE WEATHER CHANNEL saying this then I might believe...Oh, I forgot, he says man made global warming is nothing but a hoax...bad example.

Here's a quote by the world's foremost hurricane expert..."They've been brainwashing us for 20 years," Gray says. "Starting with the nuclear winter and now with the global warming. This scare will also run its course. In 15-20 years, we'll look back and see what a hoax this was."

We can do this all day if you want. Everyone can believe what they want, just don't tell me how I can set my thermostat, what light bulbs I can buy, what car I can drive, etc...and we'll get along just fine.

  • Global warming is fine by me. More days outside and more girls in skirts. I can deal with the trade off of it being 102 instead of 100 during July.

    Here's the requisite linkage.

This may be the greatest post in response to global warming that I have ever read. To hell with all the data.

More girls in less clothes = GOOD THING.

no doubt but that warming will have its perks.

but really, truly, look out your windows folks you dont need the kock brothers or bp or exxon to tell you its dang hot early do ya?

  • Wasn't there a coming ice age back in the 70s?

Ever looked at the history of the earthen temps?

Didn't it snow in Fla last year?

No shit earths climate is changing. It always has. Long before men, it warmed and cooled. It's an assumption, at best, that man has an gaugeable influence.

all i knows, its hot. damn hot. so hot they doing crotch pot cooking over next door

did i say its hotter every year than the one before?

heh, i just knew you could not help yourself

no, i take scientists seriously. those on payrolls of energy companies, perhaps a tad bit les seriously than sincerely objective ones

i will concede there are sincere deniers. but very few, and not the cream of the crop, imho. i know you disagree.

but really, with it getting hotter every year....you think this is going away? i think you are being naive if you do.

assume for the sake of discussion ten years from now we still are having year after year of record heat? at what point might you begin to wonder?

    Aaron Burr Cock

  • And Anchorage had record snowfall this winter.
Any idea what the temps were 1 million years ago? 100,000 years ago? 10,000 years ago?

Again, scientist said in the 70s that an ice age was coming.

Do you know that the record heats this winter weren't a global phenomenon? Only in N America. Wonder why? I'm sure there's some wild left field answer though.

Climate change will exist in ten years. Much like it did some thousands of years ago. So, what exactly are we supposed to wonder? Why it hasn't disappeared? I'm glad we didn't panic over the coming ice age 40 years, or air conditioning might be illegal today.

For those who deny global warming:

Do you deny that carbon emissions have a direct effect on global temperatures? Or do you deny that record amounts of carbon are being pumped into the atmosphere?

so you believe a staff on an internet website, but not nasa and the national academy of science?

perchance, you could splain in simple engalish how a reputable internet board denizen like yourself decides such scientific posers?

huffington post or nasa? hmmmmm....lemmme see i will check the magic eight ball, which might be the other resource for your meanderings

Did you ever come up with an explanation why one of the leading scientific organizations support mad made global warming got busted rigging the data? I noticed you have not addressed this point. No curiosity?

look genious it is all a pattern.. just because you give Al Gore a reach around whenever he comes on TV does not make it true..

    We've been over this before.

You are still trying to discredit scientists that say global warming is a hoax by claiming they are either on someone's payroll, or are not leaders in the field. I'm sure none of the scientists claiming that global warming is real are getting their pockets greased by Al Gore.

  • James Hansen’s Former NASA Supervisor Declares Himself a Skeptic

Says Hansen ‘Embarrassed NASA’ & ‘Was Never Muzzled’

Theon declared “climate models are useless.” “My own belief concerning anthropogenic climate change is that the models do not realistically simulate the climate system because there are many very important sub-grid scale processes that the models either replicate poorly or completely omit,” Theon explained. “Furthermore, some scientists have manipulated the observed data to justify their model results. In doing so, they neither explain what they have modified in the observations, nor explain how they did it. They have resisted making their work transparent so that it can be replicated independently by other scientists. This is clearly contrary to how science should be done. Thus there is no rational justification for using climate model forecasts to determine public policy,” he added.

“As Chief of several of NASA Headquarters’ programs (1982-94), an SES position, I was responsible for all weather and climate research in the entire agency, including the research work by James Hansen, Roy Spencer, Joanne Simpson, and several hundred other scientists at NASA field centers, in academia, and in the private sector who worked on climate research,” Theon wrote of his career. “This required a thorough understanding of the state of the science. I have kept up with climate science since retiring by reading books and journal articles,” Theon added.

Theon was elected a fellow of the American Meteorological Society, given the NASA Exceptional Performance Award twice, elected an Associate Fellow of the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics, and awarded the AIAA's Losey Medal for contributions to airborne remote sensing. He was also awarded the Radio Wave Award by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications of Japan for contributions to the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission -- a joint NASA-Japanese Space Agency satellite. Theon has authored or coauthored more than 50 NASA Reports, journal articles, monographs, chapters in books, and edited two books in the scientific literature.

Award-winning NASA Astronaut and Physicist Walter Cunningham of NASA’s Apollo 7 also recently chastised Hansen. “Hansen is a political activist who spreads fear even when NASA’s own data contradict him,” Cunningham wrote in an essay in the July/August 2008 issue of Launch Magazine. “NASA should be at the forefront in the collection of scientific evidence and debunking the current hysteria over human-caused, or Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW). Unfortunately, it is becoming just another agency caught up in the politics of global warming, or worse, politicized science,” Cunningham wrote.

[Note: Theon joins many current and former NASA scientists in dissenting from man-made climate fears. A small sampling includes: Aerospace engineer and physicist Dr. Michael Griffin, the former top administrator of NASA, Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Joanne Simpson, the first woman in the world to receive a PhD in meteorology and is formerly of NASA, Geophysicist Dr. Phil Chapman, an astronautical engineer and former NASA astronaut, Award-Winning NASA Astronaut/Geologist and Moonwalker Jack Schmitt, Chemist and Nuclear Engineer Robert DeFayette was formerly with NASA’s Plum Brook Reactor, Hungarian Ferenc Miskolczi, an atmospheric physicist with 30 years of experience and a former researcher with NASA's Ames Research Center, Climatologist Dr. John Christy, Climatologist Dr. Roy W. Spencer, Atmospheric Scientist Ross Hays of NASA's Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility]

  • Man made global warming always has and always will be a joke. One of the biggest scams in history. This has been beaten to death. The longest sustained warming period in history came from 900 - 1200 ad, which is 600 years prior to the invention of the combustion engine. So not only did man not have anything to do with it, but the result of the warm period was positive. More land discovered, more crops, better crops, more land able to produce wine, etc... and like the poster above mentioned.......more shorts and bikinis. Holla.
