  • Out of David Williams and Greg Bryant who do you think we are most likely going to be able to reel in?

  • I appreciate the fact that TBS is very careful in wording its thoughts when it comes to reporting where players are most likely to end up, especially when it comes to players leaning toward USC. Y'all just don't put yourself out there to get our hopes up. It appears to me that TBS won't report any positive recruiting news without excellent feedback from the coaches or players we recruit. However, with players like Tramel Terry and Michael Hill, how frustrating is it to TBS, as our inside information provider, and our coaches that these players seem to say or suggest one thing and turn around and do another? This recruiting cycle just seems to be one of the strangest ones ever and I hope this is just a bump in the road and not a new trend that we will begin to see with the top players heading out of state. I realize that we are still having a fantastic recruiting year, but losing the top players out of our state just leaves a sour taste in my mouth when keeping the best players at home has been so beneficial to us in the past 4 years.

  • Any chance that Demario Jeffrey is asked to or considers red shirting? I think it would really help our depth at LB next year but he could be a big time contributor on SP which we also need this year

  • Tony,

I read a lot of quotes from football and basketball recruits mentioning academics as an important factor in their decision. Have you ever once heard a recruit say he eliminated a school because of their academics?

Unless the kid plans to spur bigger schools to go to Vandy, Northwestern, Duke, Stanford, or somewhere in that echelon, why do these guys worry about mentioning academics? I hope they realize that any major state university will have tons of academic programs that can challenge them as much as they desire. So many of the kids seem to talk about academics, and then end up majoring in criminal justice. I guess they're just told that it sounds good, but it seems so disingenuous.

there are also some kids every year that like to play games and gain attention "have fun with people", try to make a big splash with their recruitment. USC has lost a couple of these guys over the last 3-4 years, none that come to mind have really done anything. FWIW

What are the dates of the Showcase Camp in July?

Not Tony but can give u Tony's answer. It will be in July, can't give specific dates because they don't want tons of kids showing up, mainly the ones they r tryIng to zero in on. (nevermind he beat me to it)

  • Tony---

you've undoubtedly been asked this, but will we stop recruiting Hill ?

since this site is relatively new, do you think it's possible for a dedicated poster to get to 25,000 posts by the end of the year? Assuming someone --ahem-- has their sights set on a million posts, will there be some special recognition like naming the board after them ?

Isn't recruiting more fun now than back in the day ( less than 10 years ago) when we had 6-7 recruits comitted at the end of the season, and would pick up another 6-7 commitments on a weekend of official visits from kids we had never heard of ?

What happened to our pipeline to British Columbia ?

In those days what % of recruits did the staff actually see in person?

What game did Antonio Heffner start, when we burned all three TO's in the first series?

speaking of commitments, it's looking like we may be done ( save for a couple drama guys waiting for signing day) by the start of the season. What will you do then? Is it more fun following the hunt, or following the intrigue of kids visiting Alabama, de-commiting, and the mandatory big secret deals?

  • I get that Griffin is full charge right now, and I also get that we wont give up on HIll.

I would have to assume that with so few spots open, that we can really focus on those two above, or I would suspect a few new names to pop up.

Are you fairly confident that we will get a good DT in this class, to go along with Hood?
