Just curious exactly how you would know how minimally serious a nuclear facility incidence is that currently has 6 reactor cooling system failures, and how you would know exactly what SOP at a nuclear facility is ??? I seriously doubt a level 4/5 nuclear facility incident would be considered a SOP situation by most nuclear scientist. Should have checked with the notorious Steve Cook first , I guess.
Does this come along with your restaurant training, or is it just part of that legend in your own mind, guru ridiculing, daily incessant posting that has become an innate part of TBS.

IODINE TABLETS!!! OH NO!!! NOT IODINE!!!
people are scared of nuclear because they don't understand + the media sensationalizes it. Yes chernobyl was bad but there is literally zero percent chance that will happen in a japanese built/run reactor. 3 mile island was bad but no deaths or injuries were reported as a result of 3 mile island. And those 2 events are the ONLY (repeat ONLY) 2 meltdown events at nuclear reactors.
meltdowns are not good but human lives are not at risk so long as the containment building contains the meltdown and that is what has happend in japan (there has already been one meltdown) and will continue to happen.
it's because of irrational fear of nuclear like that shown in this thread that we are just now building our first nuclear reactor since 3 mile island (30 years ago) right now in this country. The arab oil folks love you nuclear chicken littles i guarantee you that.

how far do you bury your head for best insulation? according to the news i just saw its not under control whatsoever
i am sure the japanese people are pleased with your blow off of a disaster beyond your understanding
we stopped building nuke reactors while the japanese have much more modern, state of the art stuff...and how much did that help really, we will never know
somehow i doubt the folks in japan will be all that sanquine about nuke power plants....in the 1950s those awful japanese radioactive monsters godzilla rodan mothra etc...all these were myths coming out of the nuking of japan in ww2.....expect some scary shit coming out of japanese cinema soon...
meanwhile...probably not in my lifetime but in the lifetime of most of you youngsters, the united states will likely experience something on the order of what just hit japan
may god have mercy on the souls cause nothing will help them
