2013 schedule

  • Hugh Freeze (Ole Miss coach) made a comment today that insinuated we would be traveling to Oxford next year. Not sure if that was just part of his talking point, or maybe he let something slip. Hoping this is true nonetheless.

  • Ole miss and aTm from the west would be great. Would give us a real chance to get back to Atlanta even with everything we lose on D.

  • Yeah assuming our East opponents flip that gives us:

    @ Ole Miss
    A&M

    @UGA
    @Tennessee
    @Missouri
    Florida
    Vandy
    Kentucky

    Clemson
    UNC
    @UCF
    SC State

  • I'd pop a big bottle of champaigne to see on UGA's schedule for 2013, @BAMA and vs LSU

    How did I miss this?!?

    Do we really go TO UCF?

    Please at least tell me we get a 2 or 3 for 1 deal with them.

    It's pretty much a straight home and home deal. We get them in 2015. If you want to count the time they came in 2005 I guess that would make it two for one.

    Kind of strange, but won't be so bad. Gives us another game in Florida. Should be a fairly easy win. Plus they will be in the Big East next year too.

    Given what Culpepper did to us that night (in the rain, if I recall correctly), I elect to not recall that game at all and will take the home and home without complaint.

    No, 2005 was SOS's first game at USC at home.

    My bad. Was thinking about '98 for some reason. 2005 was worth remembering. Noah Whiteside opened the season making me think we were in store for fun n' gun v2.0.

    Didn't ever live up to that promise, but we did make some memories. I guess I'll take it as #2 in a 2 for 1. Makes me feel better about myself.

    Very likely its @ Bama and Auburn at home.

    Yeah I think you are right. It will only be two and one of them is Auburn. I think the SEC will try to get it as close as possible to how the normal rotation would have been for teams.

    Interesting to note that there won't be any more home and home deals. The teams alternate every year. So if we play @ Ole Miss, the next year we would get someone else at home, then a third team on the road, etc.

  • I think 2013 sets up to be a very interesting year. Everyone in the east loses a lot. Us and Florida should be preseason favorites in the east.

    We could lose a lot depending on if some underclassmen leave early

    All our starting LBs
    Auguste
    Swearinger
    Holloman
    Devin Taylor
    Jerideau
    TJ Johnson
    Potentially Lattimore, Vic Hampton, and Quarles

    I know but we still return virtually our entire offense. We've already seen our RBs can be effective minus Lattimore. I think defense is easier to replace than offense. Our dl should be stout again, our back seven will be a huge concern though, namely our linebackers and safeties. I don't expect Hampton back to be honest but we've got some decent talent at corner. Quarles should at least stay till 2013, still lots of maturing for that body to be an NFL DT. I expect the 2013 team to give up a lot of points and score a lot. Its a similar recipe Arky and Auburn 2 yrs ago have been successful with.

  • Yeah I agree. OL and RB will be fine. If Vic and Quarles come back for 2013 we should be in great shape on defense. If not we may struggle with Clowney being the only vet in the front seven.

    FWIW, Vic said today he is staying until he breaks the all time interception record. Gut feeling is still that he goes after this year, but who knows.
