Have you been watching the post season? Did you say that about Walker the last 5 games, when he was like 2 for 15 or something?

I actually enjoy listening to them. Certainly much better than the now infamous Orel Hershiser, IMO.

smh....please read first the wording first

Thats why I said TONIGHT...Steve i know you are the ultimate sunshine guy and thinks all our players are better than anyone in any pro sport worldwide but his K's in his 1st 2 at bats last night were killing us. Glad we won and started scoring with men on board but as a senior with men in scoring position with 1 out you should not be striking out and it was 2 pretty bad K's.

hey we won so its a nonissue now but chalk it up to a bad game at the plate for Matthews and Greiner.

Walker is a proven hitter, very clutch over the years. He could go 0-40 and noone would complain. Matthews isn't clutch and has batted .240 all year. Quit trying to justify his bad at bats last night. And don't act like a line drive that was hit right to him was so difficult. That ball was ten times easier than english's ball, and yea I played outfield in high school.

They both sucked the asses of the Florida pitching staff all night long. They're going to need a lot of Listerine to get that nasty taste out of their mouths.

Matthews isn't clutch? Did you see the Arky series? He was the only guy who hit in the first Fla series. How about in the clempsun super regional? Saying Matthews is not clutch is silly. He has gotten some huge hits for us this year. He has struggled some, but so what. Ten times easier than English's ball? They were the same ball, both were crushed and coming right at them. English had to go back a few steps, Matthews had to come forward. Whatevs

He is almost done with his career. So if ya'll could just hold off for 2 weeks, and then you can celebrate. Thanx in advance.

Him and Stephon Gilmore are the two most crucified players we have had in quite a while. It is embarrassing to hear our fans talk about some of our own guys sometimes. Baseball is a game of failure after failure. Great hitters fail 7 out of 10 times at the plate. Bryce Harper struck out 5 times yesterday, and went 0 for 7. It happens, and there is no need to bash our own players for not getting hits when hits don't happen very often for anyone.

Just enjoy the fact that we are in the CWS, and ALL of our players have contributed along the way. Matthews has started all but a couple games this year, is a team captain, and is a big reason why we are where we are. He is a great Gamecock.

never bashed the kid. In two chances he struck out and all he needed to do was make contact. If you are batting fourth in the lineup you should be able to hit a fly ball. Your problem is you pump too much sunshine on every possible player/recruit. You act like just because they go to USC they can't be talked about unless it's all positive. It is a message board and people are allowed to voice their opinions. Just because everyone doesn't wear garnet glasses like you doesn't make them wrong or "bashing".

    Amazing isn't it? This team:

*has won back to back national championships
*is on a record NCAA tournament and CWS win streak
*just took a huge, huge step toward having a shot at another national championship by whipping the No. 1 seed (and SEC rival) ...

and we're still criticizing individual players on a public forum?

It's baseball, there are peaks and valleys. Except in the postseason win column for the Gamecocks - it's all Ws.

Why complain about individual players, it's all about the team! Enjoy the magic while it lasts and here's hoping it lasts four more games.
