    i want clowney as much as the next schmo, but to think Saban isnt the best head coach currently in college football is just being unrealistic. besides, its not like you didnt see all of this stuff coming after the alabama visit.

    and at least lay off the hyperbole in your admiration for tiny saban. There are several coaches better than saban this year.

    dont be ridiculous / over sensitive. and you using "hyperbole" to describe what i wrote is hyperbole in and of itself.

    to not acknowledge facts regarding the state of our two programs is foolish. the recruiting pitch SOS / USC uses works and i trust that, especially with Clowney. but to be shocked that alabama - who already has a top 2 recruiting class in the country and a national championship in the last 2 years - is a finalist for clowney is ridiculous.

  • They'll be second in the west next year (maybe even 3rd again MSU?). LSU will be better on O since Crowton left. Bama looses Jones, Ingram, McElroy (while not great he's never lost a game as a... wait never mind we stopped that crap), Dareus, and maybe Maize too? I'm sure they have other guys graduating or jumping too. The MLB maybe? They'll be stout, but I don't think they're exactly poised to win another NC even though many bammers will tell you it's their birth right to win it every other year. It must really piss them off to be 3-3 against us in their last six tries. Especially with the ass cutting they took at the Brice. Saban best coach currently in college? Yeah probably. Other than Steve SPURRIER I can't think of anyone I'd take above little Nikky Satan. Two NC's with separate teams (from the Toughest conference in America) is pretty strong by anyone's standard. That being said Clowney needs to look no further than Fulton. What did they tell him we couldn't do and they could? Hmm how'd that turn out?

    great points. from an impact & playing time perspective, give the nod to carolina.

    and it may be just me, but why wouldnt you want to go to a program where you have a chance to build the tradition & foundation, as opposed to just being a brick in it? all of that only 90 miles away from his home, you'd think it would be a no brainer with those things factored in.
