I don't think its an issue. In a month he will be able to perform better and he will but up a sub 4.6 and be a first round pick. These agents know more than us.

he got some terrible advice. He should have run so at least with a bad time at the combine, he could try and better it at pro day.

I agree and if he was to run a good time he wouldn't have to run at pro day, I think it is a mistake but I hope I am wrong. Either way I wish him the best.

are any of you agents? do you work in nfl front offices?
have you ever been part of the combine and then draft process?

Im Alshons biggest fan, Having said that he had an oppurtunity to shut a lot of people up on a big stage and solidify a first round spot. Now he has to wait and face a lot of criticism until he runs at pro day. He just should have run.

This is much ado about nothing. A lot of the first round picks at the skill positions will not run. I had a feeling when he said that his trainers had not told him his time. Who knows, he may have tweaked something, and rightly has not said anything about it.
If he ran a bad time, it would be all over every news site for the next two weeks. He would have never lived it down. Selfishly, we all wanted to see him run a good time. He obviously was told, and decided not to run for a good reason. Now, if he runs a good time for his pro day, its still awesome. If he runs a disappointing time then, its not on near the stage, and he will not have to hear about it for six months. Good decision, c'mon ya'll!

I agree. Not running is a non issue. Work with the speed coaches another month and put a good number up at pro day.

Not a big deal at all! Some of you "joe-schmoes" are trying to act like you are in the Draft business and know what is best for somebody and you really have no clue.
He will be a 1st round pick you can bet your ass on it. Blackmon height wasn't even 6'1" which was a huge shock to people. Broyles has a knee that needs a lot of rehab and he may never be the same.
Alshon will run at pro day... no big deal. He and the people around him know what they are doing as they have been in the business for a long time. PERIOD!

The only problem with him not running is some of you guys have to try a little harder to find something to knock him about. If he ran a bad time at the combine and then a good time at pro day, they do not take the best of the two. Rather, they take an average. He is more familiar with the surface at WB. So, it makes sense to wait.
