Clemson All-America TE Allen heading to NFL - College Football - Rivals.com

Clemson All-America tight end Dwayne Allen is heading to the NFL. The school said Friday night that Allen would give up his senior season to enter the draft. Allen had 50 catches for 598 yards and eight touchdowns, all single-season records for tight ends at Clemson. He helped the Tigers (10-4) win their first Atlantic Coast Conference championship in 20 years. - College Football news

  • Andre Ellington is the next to go and Carolina and Clemson fans will have the wish they have wanted for a whole year now...Bellamy as a starter!

  • What I don't understand is...

how in the hell is this team ever going to win again with no offensive line? None

  • No offensive line, no RBs, no defense, no problem. Sounds like a good Dabo slogan for 2012

  • Well thank you, Lord!! If I had a penny for every time he was proclaimed "the best" TE in college football, and a sure fire bet to be the first TE drafted, I could retire now. IMO, if he played in a tougher conference and better competition, few would know who he was. Hell, the FR TE for Washington the other night has a much higher chance of being a big time TE NOW than Allen. I mean, he's good and all, but he got far more love than he ever proved to be worth IMHO. Justice and Buster quietly had more plays in BIG games for us whether it was big catches or big blocks than he did I think.

The best thing about it is, when "Old Mother Hubbard" goes to her cupboard next season, it's that much more bare, so it'll be the Tigers that get the good old un-greased bone. Ouch!!

Do you hear yourself? Give a little credit when credit is due and you won't come across as such homer that doesn't know anything except about his own team.

He is the best TE that is available for the NFL draft this year. He has not shot his mouth off like so many of those high priced players at CowU. He has worked hard and made him self a high draft pick without any coaching at all.

That being said I hope they lose every game next year

  • You can't take anything away from this kid because he went to Clemson. This kid is a very good player.. Consider this: He is the first of a crop of Clemson kids move into the NFL without having a single W against the Cocks...would be very nice to see the Panthers pick him up. He's crazy athletic and fast, too.

One way is that ACC rotation has UNC off and Puke coming on. You can hide problems in ASheShe that get exposed against us.

  • Good for him. His speed really surprised me on the Ellington fumble. He was booking trying to catch the WVU player.

As injury prone as Ellington is it seems it would be in his best interest to bolt. He hasn't had anything serious but he seems to get knicked up a lot.

And I have no problem with that when it is a team vs team. My problem is when you single out one player and it's a player that is a really good player and a player that really hasn't done anything stupid as so many of them do. Homer or not, it makes everyone look bad when you post stupid stuff like that.

Allen was the best TE in college football this year. Period.

IMO, Buster has serious potential to become one of the best in the nation as well.

  • Korn has said for a while one of his agent conections has said Ellingtons gone and has representation lined uo through back channels. He's a smaller back who hasn't stayed healthy in the past who can't really improve his stock much. And who would want to come back and put their future in the hands of an OL that loses 4 starters and 7 of 10 on the two deep. Strelow had an article post Orange bowl talking about threw future OL and it wasnt good. He called the two (Davis the 375 lb guy clemson tells us is so good bc he played youth soccer and another guy) who are expected to start next year less than mobil and they looked bad. If they were any good they would have played already.

Rebel I promise we are on the same side! D Allen has had PLENTY of times where he has singled HIMSELF out! He is a good if not great player...I can't help he wears the enemy's colors!

I haven't really seen anything he has done, but I really do not pay them much attention. Like I said I am glad he is gone because it hurts their team for next year, I hope a few more leave early although I don't think anyone else is good enough.
