Anger at Alshons agent

  • Agreed what has hurt him the most was doing nothing in Indy. Bad decision whoever made it!! Alshon will go today and early and be a great pro.

I successfully called that Alshon wouldn't go in the first round, and now I want to keep the streak alive. Alshon will be taken today by the Rams.

Congrats on your oh so correct predicition. I hope someone gives you a cookie...with exlax chocolate chips.

  • AJ Jenkins to SF at pick 30.....? how did he get picked over alshon. no way someone is convincing me that he is better than alshon

  • I think a lot of teams view Alshon as Mike Williams from Southern Cal. They are built almost the same and Mike Williams was a bust. Alshon is just going to have to go out there and prove them wrong.

Love this. If he'd gone in the first round, people would have been crowing about being right as well. Quit whining.

  • I don't understand how Alshon's agent gets the full blame from some people. Do we know that the agent went against any other advice (besides on here) and said don't go to the NFL combine? That situation reminds me of a bride worried about fitting into her dress on her wedding day. From day one I think most of us knew Alshon would leave after 3 years. We knew it and he knew it. If his weight should have been lower for the combine then he has nobody to blame but himself.
We can't put Alshon's lower stats from last year on Garcia because Garcia had tunnel vision when it came to Alshon. That was his goto guy because he could throw the ball up for grabs and let Alshon get it. We even heard Spurrier saying that Garcia needs to throw the ball high to Alshon so he can go up and fight for the ball on many occassions.
I can't read minds but I can't help but notice the few times a reporter would want to "talk up" Jeffery after a game and Spurrier would quickly divert the attention to other players. There was something there that Spurrier wasn't happy about obviously.

Yes we can put it on Garcia....Did you watch the games? Garcia was overthrowing everyone. He had no touch on the ball at all.

How in the Helsinki could he not be a first rounder? Do they not watch film? He should face stayed rather than going in the second round. I've seen s lot of sec football and he is the best I recent memory. Pist.

I'm surprised as well. I think he is the 2nd or 3rd best WR. I think he should have run at the combine at a normal weight for him or pro day at a normal weight. 225. Give or take. As surprising as that is Kipers ranking of him. I know kiper is kiper. Just surprised at the end of the draft last night after 4 WR have been taken his next 4 don't include Alshon but do include a guy from Appalachian St and Broyles who is a great WR but tore up his knee. That's just ludicrous in my opinion. Anyway hoping he goes early today to someone with a good QB or up and coming star like Luck etc.

  • I know stats don't tell the whole story and I'm not defending Garcia in this situation but here's Alshon's stats from 2011

I'm glad you've only taken the time to read this one post. I've said multiple times, in multiple threads, that I think Alshon is going to be a dominant receiver in the NFL for many many years. I simply think he made terrible decisions regarding the combine. I said it at the time that it was going to cost him, and it did. Should I have been wrong (which I have been before), I would have also bumped the post to say that I was wrong (which I've done before). I think its funny that they very people upset over this are the exact same ones who would have loved shouting from the rooftops how wrong I was if Alshon was picked in the first round.
