He's really not. I try not to bash, but I cannot remember him posting anything relevant to Gamecock sports in a looong time.

THIS! Heckling is part of baseball. Either participate or accept that it's part of the game and shut yer yap about it. If it's clean there is not one thing wrong with it. It's our home field and we have every right/obligation to help our boys in anyway possible. If that means yelling at JackLegg or making fun of his band ofstretching fairies than so be it!

  • I have heckled every team or player I possibly could for decades at Carolina. Just with no below the belt crap( momma's ancestry etc.) It can be fun and have had some great responses over the years from opposing outfielders and a few coaches. Most appreciate a good sense of humor. I think it is an expected part of the game at the college level or above.Absolutely nothing at the high school level or below imo.

Do we have to play nice with the umpires too?

  • Booing has been part of the games forever. (I don't agree with booing the service academies, though.)

If I were attending, I'd keep it clean but I'd have tremendous fun with the OU team in ways that are not rude. Stuff like:

(From the musical Oklahoma), "When our WINS comes right before the rains......" (add harmony as your abilities allow. A group of 8-10 can make some noise there.

Hey OU, we aren't cheating, you're just really that bad......

Hey OU, you guys stink so bad........we should wash the ball..........

Some players on the OU girl's softball team could do bette than YOU......

My favorite: Hey 1890!!! Say hello to 1801!!!

Bad call? Tell them how you feel..... Boo.

    Go Gamers, rock on.

It is? I've never seen a pitcher heckle the batter while on the hill. Or the third base coach yell for an infielder to drop a popup. Both would be a riot though, and much more entertaining than you people trying to be "part of the game".

Fans are part of the game. It's entertainment. Have you ever been to a game? Ever watched the movie Major League?

Yours is bar none the most asinine post I've ever read on here.

Really?!!? Players heckling players?!?!? Dumb... dumb, dumb, dumb.

A-Rod does it, so it's good in my book. Just so we're clear, you're ok with coaches heckling players?

Maybe in the ACC or IVY league the crowds are expected to just spectate. However, in the SEC we participate.

I wish we were never apart of that hush puppie conference...it has some hangover effects.

  • There were guys out in Omaha during the 1st championship run that road Leggett and K. Parker like whipped puppies. They reminded Parker of the football score, how over paid he was and Leggett of just about everything from his burning his home down, his many divorces and or near marriages. Never heard a cuss word but these guys were so funny that even the locals got into the act laughing at the losers. The USC players won the two games against the Tigers but these guys got into Parkers head so bad that on his last strike out in game two he got to the top step of the dugout, turned and pointed to the section where the hecklers were and shot them the bird. The entire section broke up laughing...........heckle away boyz it works......

Sounds like USC-Aiken students, riding the coat tails of Main Campus accomplishments. Typical.

  • Good natured, above-the-belt heckling of players/coaches is OK - I assume that's what we're talking about here. What I object to is the heckling of visiting fans (most of them are player family's) - just makes me uncomfortable and it reflects badly on all of us. Players/Coaches - yes: visiting fans - no.
