As long as we get 1 team from NC and 1 from VA, it would not be a colossal mistake to NOT add UNCheat. NCSU brings just as much to the table other than a more prestigious hoops program; however, NCSU fits better culturally and is not nearly as arrogant and self-righteous as the tarholes. The tarholes would very possibly disrupt the chemistry within the conference and try to control things like they do in the EZZ.
Bama runs the SEC...no way UNC would want to (or could for that matter) be second fiddle.

Of course Alabama wants to add FSU and Clemson because it would prevent USC, Florida, and UGA from continuing to gain ground on them. 2 South Carolina schools would greatly reduce either SC school from being dominant and adding another Florida school to increase the competition for recruits in Florida and Georgia would make it more difficult for UF and UGA to become dominant. Anything BAMA wants is strictly based on the benefits to them........and in this case, the benefits would be great. This will be very interesting to watch and VERY, VERY important to our future success.
UNC and VT are the best choices, IMO. UNC has great academics, great baseball, and decent football(not always). Not to mention what they would bring to the conference in Bball. New TV market, new state.
Same for VT, except switch FB and BBall.
It boils down to convincing the existing sec schools that they should be satisfied with less money. $X/14 is more than $X/16. It would be difficult to convince Espn & CBS to pay more for adding schools already in the footprint (even though Clemson is a national brand --ha ha). Adding them also hurts potential sec network $.
With the importance to Slive of unanimous votes, bringing this up would seem "out of character".
