  • There are several reasons we have been told that Harris will stay ranging from the fact that he gave the new staff a chance and has now enjoyed speaking with them to the question of potential tampering also taking place.

    So does that mean Harris is open to telling the truth on who tampered and we could possibly turn them in?

  • If no one but Gill leaves, I would think that we would not sign more than two this spring. As of right now, we have nine scholarship players for next year. We have one senior for next year. We want to have 3 scholarships for 2013, according to WG. If we sign 2 this spring, that would get us to 11. We lose one senior next year which leaves us 3 scholarships for 2013. If we get Kacinas, that leaves us with one to give. Coach Figger said we need a "ball handler" for next year, which I took to mean a point guard. So is our target Ian Baker, or someone else?

    I don't think Frank is going to hold back in bringing in guys to fill the gaping holes at PG and wing on this team. If I have gotten anything out of the interviews with this staff so far is that they plan on improving the record of this team right away. I don't think they are planning on holding anyschollies for what's behind door # 3 next year.

    My guess is Figger is out recruiting the guys we are going to sign in this class.

    That is not the impression I get. Because of the late hour for 2012 recruiting, and because there are some good prospects that we might get for 2013, I don't believe we would use all of our available scholarships on the 2012 class, especially given the fact that there are few really good prospects left unsigned or uncommited that USC has a realistic chance to get.

    I think Coach Martin wants to try to win next year, even if he has to do it without any spring signees. But I do think he wants some scholarships available for 2013.

  • Great stuff! It's amazing how my interest level has increased with the new coach. I've always loved basketball but have gotten to the point I rarely read these type of articles and my interest just kept dwindling. Great to be excited about all major sports again!
