I talked to Tim Whipple, the coach at Irmo, whom Hyman used as a consultant in hiring Frank Martin, last week. He told me that he had talked to Frank that day, and hinted that roster changes are far from done. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

About Ellington, I have always thought that kid had boatloads of talent. He also has boatloads of talent in football. I would imagine he plays significant minutes sooner than we would think once he rejoins the bball team. He is obviously a bright kid. Not many first year players play as much for the HBC as he did.

Can you tell us your impressions of this staff vs. the just departed staff in terms of recruiting and relationships with AAU types.

You have reported more about recruiting in the last few weeks than in the whole damn time Horn was here. What are the differences?

IMO Downey was great in the passing lanes and anticipating passes and getting his steals that way but gambled a bit too much and when he guessed wrong it left our defense playing 4 on 5. He got his share of steals that way though, didn't he lead the SEC one year in SPG?

Carey Rich just said Willie Moore has committed to Oregon.

Unless our coaches already know that we have one or two guards that are going to leave, I wonder why we need to sign another guard?

My guess is Smith or Richardson are considering leaving, thats why they are pushing so hard for another guard
