since having championed hiring a good young black coach as far back as when eddie fogler was hired, i find this lengthy discussion evidence not much has changed

in twenty to twenty five years we have floundered and sucked, with the ocassional rise to a sec championship or two nit titles then to fall back into morbid mediocrity

the nature of recruiting at carolina has not changed. the relative lack of interest in hoops in the sec compared with the acc in our own viewing area along with the small poor state situtation we have with few superstars.

again i see the melifluous cogent arguments about how we should be color blind

how about if we try to win for a while, would that be okay with the color anxious? if it dont work then folks like me go away & you can go back to hiring stodgy middle aged white men who have no relationships with their players that could compare with a similarly credentialed black coach

the best players are black. why do we play black players? if we go by the arguments of the strict constructionist anti-affirmative action types we would have the cold comfort of twenty loss seasons, besides you can go play golf
