Ben Hill Griffin Stadium Question

  • Thinking about getting tickets to the Florida game.

Whats the away seating like? If you get stuck up high how bad is it?

Anyone been there with advice to share?

    Much appreciated.

Sat in some upper deck seats in the corner in 2010. Absolutely loved it. Was told there wasn't a bad seat in the house, and I'd have to agree. Obviously 10th row on the 50 would be nice, but nosebleeds aren't bad there.

We sat in the endzone like corner. It was probably 5 rows from being at the top row. I swear, we could have touched the jet for the pre-game flyover. We were high. But the seats were not bad at all. And I'd say we probably had the worse seats in the house! LOL

Exactly, I would have been several row in front of you. But had some friends sit top row in the middle of the endzone near the away section(not sure of the north south east and west designations there). They loved their seats too considering. I will definitely be going back every year. Great trip. Also the UF fans we talked with were all great. We had no problems, even with the drunk guys.

You must have had mine from 2000. Those were way up there, but the view was still really good. If only we could have gotten the drunk UF fan gone that was so bad that he made his daughter cry, it would have been the most enjoyable meltdown I've ever attended.

Except for the guy in the stands that I mentioned in my last post, that was the best part to me. We may have lost, but most of them were very gracious in victory and encouraged us to go beat Clemson. They were very knowledgeable and respectful. Many said they considered themselves lucky to have gotten past us (which they pretty much did with ease after that punt return for a TD going into halftime, as I recall).

Didn't seem to be a bad seat in the place. I was in the corner of the EZ too and way up. Maybe 20 rows from top. Had some lady gators next to us who were very nice, knowledgeable, and complimentary of our team. They still love Steve. If you go, and we TCB. Go ride the gator out front. They really don't mind. I figured we'd have an issue, but there were folks aged from 5-85 hopping on the bull gator and they UF fans had ZERO issue with it. Much nicer crowd in G'ville than what I've seen show up here when we play them.

  • Was in the upper deck for the 2010 game right under the Spurrier sign in the stadium. It was the corner of the endzone but they were still great seats. Like it has been said, not a bad seat in the house. However, I did move down after all the Gator fans cleared out in the 4th thumbsup

  • We ordered our tickets a couple of months ago through the Gamecock Club. Never wanted to go to Gainesville in the old days, 'cause I knew we were going to get hammered. Now, I'm expecting a good game, and the posts in this thread have me really enthusiastic about going. Sounds like a great stadium and good fans.

Anyone have any recs. for eating/drinking spots in Gainesville that they liked?

We are planning on staying with friends in St. Augustine - get in Friday night, leave early Sunday.

Our basic plan so far is getting there early, tailgating, and walking around the stadium/nearby campus area

Don't know anything else about whats worth doing in Gainesville

    I'm expecting a 7 or 8pm game

Other games of note that Saturday are:

    - Virginia Tech @ Clemson
    - LSU @ Texas A&M
    - Florida State @ Miami
    - Bama @ Tennesse

  • Stadium slopes back very gradually and only one end zone has a true upper deck. Result is no seat is far from the field. Stadium is old but all of the facilities have been kept up or remodeled, so very fan friendly.

Anyplace that sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts at the concession stands is OK in my book.
