I agree I was thinking that this weekend - once you get up around 20+ reps, its not even a direct correlation between their max strength....its an endurance thing and you get bigtime lactic acid buildup....its pretty contrary to strength training that these guys typically do and a guy who is stronger could do worse than someone who was specifically training for high reps lower weights.

Thats the whole point. They want to see who has the most strength and endurance not just the most strength. Football is a game of strength and endurance. It's the same reason Fitz never had our guys do a one rep max.

i call BS on this.........a regular dude can not do 17 reps...Maybe you can in fact do 17 reps, but you are in the gym and have been in the gym for quite some time. So lets not make it sound like repping 225 out is as easy as hitting a few key strokes on the computer to impress others.

but you make it sound like a "regular dude" can do at least 17 reps of 225lbs. by your standards and that is false.
AND considering how far off your "regular dude" standards are......I call BS that you can do 17 reps yourself.

Cool....sounds like your closer to a superior athlete than regular dude. Im 5'10, 195lbs and I workout as well. I can get 12 reps of 225llbs on a good day, 10-11 on an average day.
Should arm length factor into the NFL combine stats??? I am short and have a thick chest...the weight does not travel as far with me as on a taller athlete. Does that matter?

You and I are basically of equal strength, so you can stop calling BS now! The difference is a few inches and a few pounds.
Is arm-length considered...same as wingspan right? I think it's important to consider it for OL, DL and WRs so that they can create separation, reach for jump balls, etc.

Probably, but weight lifting is totally different than being fast and freakish. Anyone who trains long enough can bench 300, just a matter of time.
The same cannot be said for running a 4.6 forty or having a 40 inch vertical jump. Those are just God-given abilities.
