  • Word from many place is that they no longer have a home in the Big 10. It will be very interesting to see if this is indeed the case as not only will they lose the scholarships but they will lose the Big 10 funds that I am sure they were counting on handing over the the NCAA to cover the 60 million. It appears that the Big 10 does not want their funds used to play for PSU's issues. Can't say that I blame them.

  • Surely they would not get kicked out of the Big 10, right?

Do ya'll think that is possible?

Given the punishment they were given they will become an irrelevant program with D-II talent. What are the benefits of keeping them at this point? They bring very little in other sports. The Big10 then could lure ND into the conference at PSU's expense.

I hear Dabo has already announced that Clemson will not be joining the Big 10.

  • So they get to stay but lose the money. That brings the total to 73 million in lost revenues. They will now become the whipping boy and automatic win for Big 10 programs. They still get credit for the conference game but get to beat a D-II squad.

Its actually 13 per year for four years (Total years in the Bowl Ban) so add another 52 million and it is 112 million lost

Wow, you are right. I totally missed that. This is a program killer.

It is possible, but IMO highly unlikely.

    No.

"it will therefore be ineligible to receive its share of Big Ten Conference bowl revenues over those same four years. That money, estimated to be approximately $13 million, will be donated to established charitable organizations in Big Ten communities dedicated to the protection of children."

Says "that money," which refers to the bowl revenues over the course of 4 years, is "estimated to be approximately $13 million..."

So it is $13 million total, not $52 million.

The civil / class action suits will be large as well.

Are there three more folks from PSU that will be indicted sooner than later?

    This is just the tip...

It's 13 mil per year, right?

Don't we get at least that per year from the SEC from bowls?
