Board Opinion on Marcus Lattimore...

  • I think he would be supported in whatever he does. I think all of Gamecock nation has a man crush on Marcus.
It is my opinion that he will be back for his senior year no matter what. His mother insists that he not include her in any financial decisions he makes. She is doing the best job of any mother I have ever heard of in taking her completely out of the equation in a financial sense.

I think this is the best opportunity maybe we will ever have to have two 1000 yarders. Whether one of them is Shaw or not, we are not considering that, are we?

Kenny, if he comes back, will get his load. Carson is too quick to not be given some touches. I would love to see Byrd in the backfield, he is no smaller than Dat from oregon, and as fast. Davis will have to get his shots in.

Now that I think about it: Marcus-1600, Shaw-950, Miles-650, Carson-400. That is a lot of rushing yards. Maybe I am being a little overzealous.

  • not likely to win Heisman or play for NC

ML will be gone either way if he is healthy and has a good year

no chance to get 2 1000 yard rushers, too many backs will get carries

He should move to the NFL no matter what happens next year

Hypothetically speaking, say Marcus wins the Heisman this year and the Gamecocks make it to the National Championship and lose.

    1) Do you think the scenario affects his decision on NFL or senior year?
    2) Do you think he stays or goes after this year?
    3) Possibility of (2) 1,000 yard rushers this year by the Gamecocks.

Personally I do not think we ride Marcus that hard this season. I think he will get 10-15 carries a game early on. Just enough to be ready by the meat of the SEC schedule.
He will be 100% for his senior season and will return.
The potential is there for two 1000 yard fishers but I hope we are not needIng shaw or Marcus to that extent

  • 1) would have no affect on his decision.
    2) I think he stays regardless of what happens.
    3) 15%

Thanks JB. Those things are very, very loud so I don't get a chance to crank them too often.

Let me guess, a Plexi and a JMP?

Just a bit overzelaous I'd say. If Shaw rushes for 950 yards next year, my guess is our OLine is AWFUL. You do realize Miles at 650 yards would be more than he's ever had in his career right? My guess is more like Marcus 1200, Shaw 450, Miles 250, Carson 190, Wilds 100ish.

It also seems like you sometimes confuse athleticism with talent. Byrd is fast, but he's not a RB. Thomas at Oregon is a phenom, and it's not solely his speed that makes him such a threat. Let's let our RBs be RBs, our WRs be WRs, and our CBs be CBs.

  • 1) No
    2) Marcus has said many times he wants to be the all time leading rusher at USC. Based on that I say he comes back for his SR year because that is his only chance to do it.
    3) Possible but highly unlikely. If Marcus is 100% he should get 20-25 touches a game.
