  • What's the deal with Bourn? Do we have a shot to resign him/will we?

Gonna be a tough sign. Very expensive. I don't think he is worth what he's gonna demand.

  • Teheran hasn't impressed me during his starts for the big league club.

Gilmartin is a lesser talented version of Minor.

Ahmed is behind Simmons plus we have a future star in Peraza in Rome

Hearing it could be Juan Francisco instead of Gilmartin. So Teheran, Francisco, Ahmed and lower prospect. Do it KT...

  • Granted I don't know most (only Teheran) of the names y'all would be trading but it seems like it would take y'all to another level. J Upton is only 25 and his two down seasons in the last few have been bc injuries. His home/road splits are very discouraging since he plays in probably the most hitter friendly stadium in the NL but the road parks out west are tough outside of Coores. Petco and the Dodgers are pretty extrem pitchers parks.

For the life of me I can't figure out why they would deal him. Seems like a guy you build around. Anyway I saw where K Towers is heading out of the country Friday and this could move fast. Not a Braves fan but that would be a heck of a race with the Nats the next few years.m

The difference is upton is around three more years and we can't be scared of the texeria trade forever.

I was actually in favor of the Texiera trade. I'm just not in favor of this one if it's Teheran/Gilmartin/Ahmed/and another arm.

Braves could always sign him for 1 year, but I think Wren wants to get a multi-year guy in the outfield. I like Bourne but I liked him less after watching him for a full season than I did with a smaller sample size. When he gets hot, he's like Carlos Beltran and can carry an offense, but he's just not a great leadoff man. On a team with a great leadoff man, he's be a great #2 hitter or ever in the 6 or 7 hole.

With Boras as an agent? No way he allows a 30 year old client to sign a one year deal.

Yep. Rosenthal is saying Delgado isn't the biggest player included in the deal. Tehren is not included.

  • Per Mark Bowman on twitter, it's Upton and Chris Johnson for Prado, Delgado, Ahmed and Spruill.

  • Prado is going to be missed but Chris Johnson isn't bad. We've just gotta hope the outfield stays healthy since Prado could play everywhere.

I just love watching Prado's AB's. He is a 'real' professional hitter.

Clearly it's not going to happen now, but Bourne is unsigned 3 weeks before pitchers and catchers report. I know the one year deal is not Boras's MO, but its not in his best interest to have a client unsigned when spring training starts. I was just suggesting that as the only way Bourne could've possibly re-signed with the Braves.
